Post PAX Update - Where is Hawktober??? (Blog)

G'day gamers, hope you're all well. Just wanna apologies for the radio silence as I have been FLAT OUT lately. Got a lot of projects I'm juggling, IRL commitments and such. I've been working super hard so that the end of this year is gonna feel special. So let me get you up to speed!

PAX AUS) Last weekend was PAX which was a whopper time. Had a lot on including a PS1 30th Anniversary Panel. The full video for this will be uploaded TOMORROW! I'm super proud of what we presented and it was an incredible experience we'll all never forget. Also huge thanks to everyone who was able to attend the meetup and get a photo with our special guest!

If you don't follow me on Instagram, def do that so you can see all the real life stuff I get up too. It's fun touching grass sometimes. Life has been very stop start lately with so many different things happening so consistent work mode has been difficult to attain. But following this weekend, I'm a free man until the end of 2024 so the plan is to pump as much as I can stomach!

WHERE IS HAWKTOBER?!?!?!? Coming VERY SOON!!

I'm not doing a big thing this year, in fact it's only gonna be ONE video! But I'm about to start editing that right after this and I'm very pumped on the entire thing so far. I think it's gonna be fun. You might be wondering why it's only one video and the answer it simple... it's Episode 199!

I have got a... MASSIVE 3-Parter coming up before the end of the year to celebrate 200 EPISODES!!! So Hawktober needed to be simplified so that I don't get too burnt out (already kinda am) so that's just how it's gotta be guys. Quality over quantity, always!

If anyone would like to feature in that episode, I'm hoping to get some people to record some little things for me either as voice or video. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED: let me know with a COMMENT and I will direct message you HERE on Patreon with more info! I regret that I can't do the same as we did for episode 100 where I had everyone contribute to the huge outro, there is just too many people this time around. I will also be offering up some opportunities in the Discord server as well but I want all of you to get first pickings!

End of 2024 Plans: As I have mentioned above, I am feeling a bit of burnout. This year while really good has been rocky in some places and of course, I'm still in the process of sorting life out, though things are going much better. That being said, I've been doing this for 10 FULL YEARS come December so I would like to take a break and focus my attention elsewhere for a change: other creative projects, personal R&R, housework, all the fun shit. Plus it's SUMMER down under and it's already getting too hot in this damn room to work all the time.

Right now the plan is:

• Get Hawktober out of the way (ETA final week of this month)

• Spend ALL of November producing EPISODE 200!!!

• AS soon as all that is done, my break will officially begin!

I wanna play some stuff for fun, I may still do the occasional live stream during this time, in fact it might be more likely if I've got more energy. But no guarantees! I am also still chipping away behind the scenes at a little real life doco about my journey so far. Plans were to have that finish this year but at this rate, it's more likely to release early 2025!

In the event that I DO take this extended break from actual work, Patronage will be PAUSED! I need to teach my idiot, paranoid brain that I can have a break without the pressure that I'm letting anyone down or that people are paying me to be on all the time. So pausing payments even just for a single month will be part of me taking a break. You guys don't need to do anything! I can simply pause and restart payments once I'm back into the swing of things again and everything will be back just the same. Of course you are always welcome to leave, I never want anyone to feel obliged to donate. I am getting by fine IRL, bills paid and rent on time. My YouTube income which Patreon makes up roughly 25% of on average is purely for video spending...

My Camera Took a NOSE DIVE) Yeah so right before PAX, right before I had to film this really important thing. My old tripod of 9 years failed and the telescopic leg collapsed sending my camera lens first onto the concrete. THANKFULLY there was no major damage to the camera or lens, only the LENS FILTER was destroyed. So I've had to replace some of my equipment lately: new tripod and a new lens = about $200aud.

That's 2/3 of a single month of Patronage from you guys so thank you so much. It's times like this it really relieves the stress of situations like this, I make the videos but all of you keep me going so eternally thank you all so much! 💜
