A New Year: 2025! (Update Blog)

G'day gamers and legends! I hope you are doing well, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I hope your holiday season has been excellent and healthy. It's been a while since I've said much of anything anywhere so I wanted to give all of you guys a big update on several things: channel, personal life, plans for 2025 and upcoming content etc. so let's get right into it!

FREE February!) First things first, I mentioned that given I was taking a break through January that Patreon payments would be paused! I was a DAY LATE to turn this on! Because of this, you will be charged for January of 2025 HOWEVER, existing Patrons will receive ALL PERKS FOR FREE for the month of February! So even if you were thinking of cancelling, stick around a little longer to make the most of it!

Upcoming Content) Now having said that... I don't know how much you're gonna get in the coming month as I've legitimately been taking time for myself. I do have one video drafted currently which will no doubt kick-start the year but otherwise I'm just kinda wingin' it. While last year was far from the most successful for the channel in terms of viewership and growth, it was a welcome warmth I felt in regards to the approach of making content: just taking it at my own pace. Fuck the algorithm, fuck unnecessary pressure, that's what I'm always trying to do and I plan to continue with that mindset this year.
Having said that, I do what to make a more active attempt at dropping videos of any kind again, given that sometimes... maybe I'm just in the mood to live stream. Maybe I wanna film a batch of testing or wanna talk about the game room and whatever. I'm also looking to begin introducing SHORTS to the channel in some capacity, be it funny clips from videos or short form reviews (for those who remember Square Eyed Shorties) as an additional way to put my opinions out there.

As always though, SEJ episodes will be the primary focus!

I've made a list, like I do most years, of a bunch of videos I'd like to make, whether they see the light of day is yet to be seen but I've still got juice in the tank don't worry. I'm just taking life at my own pace as I mentioned!

Before all of that, I've still got some unfinished business from last year that needs completing so expect to see some more Ratchet related videos hitting the channel very soon:

• Fan Submissions Compilation

• Making-of Episode 200

• Ratchet Outtakes

These will all go up together very soon, I just need to complete the Making-of episode and then everything will be ready. I had planned for the Making-of to be a Patreon EXCLUSIVE however... I feel like it would be nice for everyone to have access to it, so it's hitting the main channel. Hope that's cool with everyone! 😊

Personal Life) In regards to me, I've been feeling REALLY nice this past month taking a break and just relaxing. I've been playing some games just for fun (one of which has evolved into that first episode of the year TBA) and potentially a couple of others. Given the extreme Summer weather here, I've had to find other time sinks so I've began sorting through larger chunks of my collection for potential sale/content regarding the matter. Not games so much, just other stuff I've accumulated!

I'm also on the verge of biting the bullet on my big tech upgrade for the year which will be a new PC. Current one is going ok but it's FULL and beginning to fail in key areas like game capture, editing efficiency and such. The stuff that hinders my ability to work on stuff. I've had this machine since 2017 (when Crash N.Sane Trilogy released) and while the specs are still alright for what they are, it's just parts coming to the end of their life due to the toll of video making. I might make a video about all of that when it happens just because people might find it interesting. Also in similar vein, I'm hoping to make a few upgrades to my general game setup throughout the course of the year, in combination with sorting/selling some of the collection. But that's all just concept right now and I'll be sure to talk about it more if anything comes of it.

New Years RESOLUTIONS) Generally I think they're dumb but I'm gonna tell you mine so that maybe you might kick me in the ass to stick to them this year! 😉 Executive Dysfunction is one of my biggest struggles in my day to day; essentially that means I find a lot of difficulty initiating certain tasks i.e... Live Streaming consistently. SO... resolutions are:

• Attempt to Live Stream more consistently

• Not stress about algorithm stuff (good luck with that one!)

• To be consistent with content i.e. just having something regularly. Even a short or a stream is better than a huge episode if I don't have the spoons for it

And finally, I'm just keen to have fun knocking off some long awaited games from the list for the channel. No guarantees of course but I'd like to smash out the Smackdown (and vs. Raw) games, I want to do more GTA this year, I wanna do more series retrospectives and weird videos I've been thinking about for years and never start for whatever reason. Basically I want 2025 to be the year of completion! I think finally getting to the Ratchet trilogy is playing a big part on this mindset, even though it was a lot of work, I am SO GLAD that it's done. It exists and I want more projects to finally see the light of day! So stay tuned! ✌

Closing Thoughts) That's where I'm at people, just gonna keep kicking it my style and fuck the rest of the world.
