REACTION to ONEUS - I SHALL DEBUT EP.01

Comments

You are right that people were actually a little mad at a certain point with the director but more of the fans actually understood what he wanted the group to achieve. I also agree when you said that this lesson will stick for the rest of their lives. You can actually see it in their vlives and stories that they share during recordings and practices how they always have each others backs. Even when they are recording their individual shots in their mv’s their is always a member behind the camera monitoring the other member on camera. How in fan meetings they always look back to see if all members are in the car. Even in the dorms when Keonhee was not in the dorms in the morning and they called him because he was sleeping the company’s recording studio. This little things I think stemmed out from this and it has made their bond that much stronger.

Please watch all the episodes. You will love them so much more.

OMG! I've been waiting for you to react to this! Finally! YAAAAAAAY!

I agree with the others. There are some moments that are quite frustrating but you never know how much is real and how much is dramatized for the show. If you do have time for it though it has a lot of iconic oneus and onewe moments and their interactions are what make it for me.

Rewatching this made me realize that Lee Sangho (the other director judging them) is the guy who made "To Reach You" for Produce 48. I went back to watch the recording shown on the show and it was being done in rbw. I never realized 😮 Must have been weird for Goeun lol

i loved this episode for the same reason as you, i think it was a harsh but important lesson and really fascinating to see from an outsider's perspective.

I'm so glad you reacted to this :) Yeah I actually though this was a good mission for them too. It might have been tough but it was a really important lesson to learn. He also made sure to help Xion record when the members didn't so that he could still do well, which is something you often don't see in shows like this. The downside to this mission is that it wouldn't have helped with Xion's complex of feeling like the he is holding the team back; however, it was important the team recognised that they needed to be there to support him and help him grow even when things are tough for themselves given how short Xion's trainee period was. Regarding the rest of the show, there are a couple of games/punishments that are pretty frustrating and unnecessary, however the show as a whole will give you a good insight into the relationships between the members, and has a lot of great moments that I don't think any WEUS fan should miss. I also suspect that some things were possibly exaggerated on screen for dramatic effect and that they were given more support off screen given as they've said they have great memories from the show and that they want to do it again (if not though, there are definitely a couple of things later on I am not ok with). As someone mentioned, Oneus also has the 1theK show which is fun but is more just games rather than a learning experience. Plus Onewe don't have their own reality show, so personally I hope you continue with this one 1st so you can see both groups and their interactions rather than just Oneus alone.

As much as I do enjoy the pre-debut Oneus stuff I definitely have my issues with the I Shall Debut series.. Their new reality with 1thek is more enjoyable. Besides being much higher quality it was also free of unnecessary drama (and the boys were more used to the camera so it felt more natural). That being said I Shall Debut and We Shall Debut still has some great moments and its always nice to see where they began (and WEUS interactions are everything <3)

Thilde

ah yes, this was a very weird show... you could tell the production team wanted that same kind of survival drama other pre-debut shows have but because there wasn't as much at stake to begin with and the boys were actually kind of breezing through the tasks the producers started bending over backwards to create the drama artificially which was... yeah, it was weird lol

Omg Kaia love you 😘 Please watch more

Yeah there is 4 eps of season 1 then after that the other 16 episodes are season 2 which are both groups together

Sea

I just wanted to say if you end up wanting to watch more later on. I think it's either like we shall debut or I shall debut season 2 but it is one that has both onewe and oneus.
