One More Thing: Terrance

Greetings Adventurers,

The final month of the year and we wanted to celebrate the holidays in a bit of an odd way, by giving you an absolute nightmare of a snowball battle ready for your campaigns. We came up with this idea last month and we've been having a ton of fun putting together this troublesome elf that we hope will get your players in the mood for the holidays!

Design notes from Matthew:
I just had this thing in my head from the moment we decided to do a holiday release this year and it was completely focused around the snowball gatling gun. As we started to talk more about what would be wielding it, the idea of an extremely jacked elf that made it to crush his competition in the snowball fight scene just seemed too good to pass up. It was then that we knew we had to bring it to life.
I'm all for a bit of humor when appropriate for my games and if you happen to be running a holiday one-shot or something of that nature, the idea of having a BBEG named "Terrance" just seemed right on par for the type of story you might want to tell. Most of his abilities are centered around crown control and causing disruptions to the battlefield as well as resetting the fight when appropriate.
I think something that this helped teach me is thematic design. Sometimes when you're making a creature, you have an idea about what theme it fits, but not necessary active abilities. That was the care with Terrance, so what I did was write down all of the things that I expected an inventor elf to have ready and equipped for a snowball fight. From there, writing abilities was just ticking boxes on that equipment.

This is our final One More Thing release of the year and I hope you all feel like you've gotten some great extra content this year. That's not going anywhere as we head into 2025. We have plenty of ideas to keep working through, but for now it's time for a little rest. Enjoy your holidays folks!
