Comments

Oh nooo this is making me want to get his album 😩 anw idk why but I cdnt stop laughing at the part where ur cat came up. Something about seeing B.I's face there and then u jamming to his sad song while ur cat's ass is in ur face is hilarious hahahaah

you'll have to seize the chance since WATERFALL just got restock lol, yeah there are PEOPLE haven't gotten theirs i mean. I have to say, to just listen to the music without lyrics is a thing, while to listen with lyrics is another.

(I'm also not trying to start beef w anyone but I just wanted to say it was pretty clear that you were reading the lyrics as you went & totally understand the approach! Somehow reading lyrics and listening separately hits diff than lyric vids. I relate v much. I liked the way you did it & thought it was very respectful to the music ^u^)

but seriously, I'm so happy you were able to react to this album!! you can tell he really poured his heart and soul into every single track, and you can just feel the pure emotion that comes across with every word. the production of it is insane, and I thought it was amazing how he was able to display such range musically while somehow having all the tracks flow so perfectly into each other (maybe with the slightly jarring exception of help me to remember me HAHAHA - but that was a much needed palate cleanser I think). BI has always been an amazing lyricist. In the past, his songs were mostly based on his imagination or movies, but you could tell there was that ever-present thread of truth in everything he wrote; but having this album be wholly based on his experience gives a million more layers of depth and emotion to every song. I feel you HARDCORE on not being able to rank the album LOL but my favourites are probablllyyyyyy Help Me, Illusion (turned me the f**k OUT), Stay, Remember Me, and Flow Away. Anyways I will cease with my rambling haha. As always, your reactions are so thoughtful, help me hear so much more in the music & give me a whole new appreciation for something I already loved. Thank you for all your hard work! 👑👑👑

when you said "all the hairs on my arm are like TING" I felt that 😂😭

Also, I wouldn't normally even say anything because I knew before I became your patron again this month that you won't react to Lyric Videos anymore. But I saw a few people talk about Reacting to this specific album without lyric videos and how much it lessens the connection between Reactor and viewer / Reactor and artist.

Yayyy! This album is everything I wanted and more! He gave us variety but also encompassing exactly B.I’s music color that we know & love so much, he is unique in his musical approach & also very fresh with it too! ! B.I’s solo album has been long awaited and I’m happy he can stand on his two feet again confidently to share his love for music and communicate with us through lyrics which is what he does best! I am happy for him and proud of him! My favorite tracks are: GRAY, Re-Birth, Remember Me, Illusion, & Stay I know some people may find this annoying what I’m going to bring up but I don’t find it to be disrespectful in any way because B.I is proud of who and where he’s from & has a lot of love towards people in his life. I know you said you will be doing this Kaia so this could be for anyone else that is also new to B.I and are even more new to iKON but I find it really important to get into both iKON and B.I together as it respects both of their backgrounds even as currently separate artists. B.I was part of iKON for most of his life (young trainee + after debut for 4 out of the 6 years) and wasn’t meant to leave his team. Also note that to truly understand B.I’s musical identity means looking back at the mass majority of music he has produced. I mean you cannot ignore his contribution lyrically to each & every single iKON song and composition to 94% of iKON’s discography which also contributes to what kind of artist musically iKON was and most definitely is today as well as soloist B.I. I also want to say that after leaving iKON that the lack of B.I’s involvement would not, doesn't, erase the sound & color that iKON developed with him nor did B.I being the main producer mean that the rest of iKON lacked involvement in creating their sound along with him or have influenced each other if that makes sense while being iKON together. I mean Why Why Why still reflects perfectly iKON’s musical identity as if B.I also took part in (which he didn’t) but it only means that both iKON & B.I including other producers they work with carry a lot of similarities in music. Anyways, I am looking forward for you to look back on iKON’s music and you can understand how greatly B.I’s influence was and therefore why it’s important to look into both B.I and iKON. I understand you probably intend to but have a lot on your plate but I am just reminding you & also explaining a bit more on what kind of artist B.I is like. (Like you do with Monsta X and Wonho!) Also, about how Numb sounds like a Day6 song cuz of the contradiction between the lyrics to sound, B.I is known to create bright sounding songs with sad lyrics which I think you have experienced with iKON’s music. i.e Love Scenario, Goodbye Road, Killing Me, etc but this is especially the case with iKON’s bsides too. I’m glad you enjoyed this album a lot! Lol at your statement about Bobby having one of your fav albums this year and B.I’s being up there now. This is why we need a Double B album!

i knew before going in that the album would make me an emotional mess when it came out but like you said, hanbin exceeds your expectations and so he made me even more emotional than i thought he would. my favourite is predictably re-birth, because it's for the fans so it has a very special place in my heart. for the credits of the album, he's credited in everything but the arrangements of the songs! five of the songs he worked on with millennium, a yg trainee who became an in-house producer instead, who worked on a lot of ikon's songs as well. there's actually quite a few producers/composers who work/have worked with other yg artists credited on this album and somehow that makes me really glad? the same way seeing the leehi and tablo features made me glad. like, the scandal hit right when leehi was promoting her song that featured hanbin, called no one, and during promotions on music shows they obviously just cut his verses out, but when she performed it somewhere where it was more free, like at festivals? the MR would have his rap in it. and obviously, then getting the epik high album and seeing that he was featured on a track... just thinking about it again is making me feel like crying lmao. it just makes me so happy that there are still people in the industry supporting him. sorry for the rant! glad you enjoyed the album <3

I do understand why you don't like Reacting to Lyric Videos. It's just kind of different for Music by Rappers because in my Opinion. It's like eating Lasagna without the Cheese Sauce. It feels disrespectful.

BaoziBang

I explained why I didn't use lyric videos and I think its quite clear by my reactions that the impact of the lyrics wasn't lost on me at all

Kaia (The Safe Cave)

i was expecting to see you react to the lyrics videos because i think in this case this songs have so much more power with the lyrics in real time with the music
