Bugs, Bugs, and More Bugs!!

Hello to all our supportive fans! As you know, we opened up a limited playtesting window for the puppy play scene with Mistress Yuki Ona. We're so glad we did! Some of the bugs we found were really ruining the experience for testers. Here's a summary of what we heard and what we're doing.

Finding and Exterminating the Infestation!

Issue 1: Player avatars breaking immersion

One of the biggest immersion breaking bugs reported was related to our upcoming player avatars.

Play testers experienced clipping or looking through the jaw of the avatar, which actually prevented game play, since you need to be able to see the pose assist to know if you’re in the right position.

This was slowing down our ability to release a build, so let’s not have any more delays than we need to!

Solution: Remove player avatars

For now we have decided the best course of action is to temporarily remove the new avatars and revisit them to find a better solution. 

This means, we are going back to just floating hands for the player. But, we are updating the hand models to look better than their previous models. 

Issue 2: The Distracted feature is distracting!

One of the features we built into the game was the concept of distraction. This means that when players turn their eyes away from the Mistress, the game recognizes this and the Mistress stops what she is doing and chastises the player.

In the puppy play scene, this was hurting our poor players’ necks from having to keep their head tilted back while wearing a heavy set of goggles. Yuck!! That’s not the kind of sadism I’m into!

Solution: Disable “distracted” in the puppy play scene

We have decided to remove it for now do to positioning issues. This should work much better for everyone. That said, we may add it back in later with the right support (ie, looking left to right is considered ‘distracted’, but not up and down. We’ll see!

Issue 3: Achy knees and answering with puppy paws

It never occurred to us that not everyone can spend extended periods of time on their knees and that might hurt! Since our good puppies will be on their knees so much, we need to warn them so they don’t lose immersion once they figure out their knees are aching!

On top of that, the settings for answering yes or no with puppy paws was not sensitive enough, which just further keeps our players on their knees trying to get through the scene - and not in a FUN way!!

Solution: Notification added and settings tweaked

To make sure our players know what they are in for, we are adding a notification to the start of the scene to let players know they will be on their knees and a suggestion to grab a pillow before playing!

Fixes and tweaks to the new dual pose recognition system will be implemented so the ‘yes’ and ‘no’ poses register the way we want them to.

Yay for all the good puppies who persevered through these bugs to playtest the scene for us!!

Infestation Treated!!

This concludes the major changes and implementations we are working on from feedback. Any other minor bugs have been added to the backlog. Thank you to everyone supporting and helping with our project and your continued patience is greatly appreciated!
