They are extremely defensible positions, yes! all three systems are neighbouring ones, they’re defended with the full backing of the Galactic union and in turn they churn out new units constantly to supply the G.U. with man power. Though they know the ‘shield of the galactic union’ will ultimately succumb to the imperiums greater numbers, they’re doing their best to hold their ground. That’s an interesting way of putting it, you could say that, the womb-worlds would be completely uninhabitable to their previous inhabitants and they’re too valuable of an asset to just hand over. Perhaps this would be a point of tension in the hypothetical scenario of imperium defeat.

2023-10-11 17:03:42 +0000 UTCThe fact that most of the turrets weren't destroyed really shows how hard it is to attack Imperium controled space, especially the Wombworlds. And I am guessing that those 3 start systems holding back the Imperium are not only the ones where Deicide, Fliegrigel and Boreus' wombworlds are located, but also really close to each other in order to form a functional "wall". Also, is this the start of a new "nation" formed from territory controled by the freefathers, as I don't see the point in returning it to it's pre-Imperium owners?
