For new people who’ve just joined:
The way this Patreon usually works is that I post the skeleton pages like this, showing the line-work without colour or shading and then afterwards I post the finished version of the page. These line art pages are what take the most time (although they are very unfinished) because I have to do all of the planning, perspective and draft-work in them. Colours are relatively quick and I’ll have the coloured version of this page up either tomorrow or the following day. Thanks so much everyone for the support, I really appreciate it. About the page:
I have it in my head that public space ports would be very dirty places. The ISS, which is carefully managed by the most well funded space agency on the face of the earth and crewed by highly trained specialists, is really quite gross. Now imagine a multi species space station with merchants and travellers that come and go, they wouldn’t treat the place with any respect as though it is their own home, they’re just passing through. This is why I’ve opted for more of a grimy depiction and not a sleek and clean futuristic one. We’ve only seeing the core of the station here, but when we get down into the centrifuge, we’ll start to see more lived in environments where different cultures are expressed through decorative patterns among other things.
Also, I’m going to see dune part 2 tonight, so I’ll give you my spoiler free review for that when I post the finished version of this page.
