Patreon on IOS! (Update)
Added 2024-08-14 00:04:39 +0000 UTCHello! I wanted to make a statement in regards to Patreon needing to abide to changes being enforced by Apple, they’re removing all alternatives of payment on their App Store. If you use pc, android or any other OS, this doesn’t affect you!
UPDATE I have more information to give from Patreon: “First, we want to be clear about one thing: this will not impact your existing memberships at all. Apple's App Store fee only applies to new memberships purchased in the iOS app beginning in November 2024.”
Exclusively on IOS-devices, Apple is now demanding a 30% fee on all IOS users starting November 2024. This will not affect subscriptions PRIOR to November !
Post-November: Handle all your transactions via Computer or other OS-systems outside of Apple devices. We (as creators) have only two options: simply increase subscriptions exclusively to IOS-users to mitigate costs, or accept a decrease in the income made.
I've been comfortable with my tier prices, but to make any less would be hard for me honestly. I make 5-8 drawings a month and lose $100-200 usd on platform fees as is, I do not think I can reduce what little I make here as I currently do :(

It's unclear with this new update as of right now Using any PC, Android, anything that isn't an Apple product will remain the same

Does this mean I should never log into Patreon with an apple device? Can I chrome on my laptop and android phone okay? Is Patreon even usable for you now? I am sorry but I am just so confused on How Apple is charging more on Patreon.
