Useful songwriting resource

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to share with you all some resources as I come across them/remember them that I found useful over time.

Todays instalment comes from the book of songwriting.

This was a completely overlooked subject and skill for me for a long time, but became super paramount to how I wrote music after I took the time to wise up to it. I like to look at production much more holistically now. There are many facets to music creation, and just because we may make tear out dubstep, doesn't mean we can't take from a page of clever melody writing or chord progressions for example. Every skill you learn, from glitch sound design to learning about Ionian scales, can benefit you in one way or another.

This guy was one of my first impressions when it came time for me to realize that songwriting in itself was a skill to learn. It takes music theory and applies it in a real world kind of way. He talks about clever and skillful songwriting generally, from pop music to metal and lots in-between. It's super interesting and entertaining and definitely worth your time.

I'll be sharing more stuff like this as time goes on!

This is absolutely a skill I need to learn as some who doesn’t have any music background what so ever. Thanks!
