Q&A Time!!

Alright guys the first Q&A is coming up! Comment below with all of your questions and I'll answer them in an upcoming vid for you guys!!

They can be anything and everything, from life advice to my favourite plug-ins to what my dogs name is.

Just to reiterate, I'll be taking questions this way and recording it separately, instead of doing this live, just to make sure everyone gets a fair chance to ask a question and no one misses out on a livestream :)

Looking forward to your Q's!!

Please note I will be recording a Q&A with my manager very soon as well so most industry questions you've asked in the previous Q&A post will be answered there :)

Hey Blanke! LOVE your music. And your set at the Great Saltair was SO good ... What would be your advice on mixing and mastering? I feel like my creativity is there, but my stuff just lacks in quality once I export. Thanks in advance for the advice!

Jacob Coburn

Is it a better approach to release music until people die to see you live and dj, or is it better to dj locally and get traction from the ground up playing some of your songs in your sets until you start selling out venues?

Paul Thompson

Haha i can answer this now, You can indeed, but its mainly through stems which can be limiting and restricting but its not the end of the world. Have done this a couple of times. It just gets a little messy so organisation is vital.

BLANKE

extremely novice question: can you collab with somebody who uses a different DAW than you? do you just send stems back and forth? is that how that works? lmao

rayael

What do you prefer to use for building an atmosphere and backround for your tracks? And could you share some tricks and techniques you use for making interesting stuff.

LM14

Did you learn doing those song flips all by yourself? And will you be able to show how to make one or even breakdown the nero- setisfy and virtual self - eon break flips which are absolutely my top ones.

LM14

How you usually approach to choosing sounds - you can make or have tons of drums, leads presets, basses ,glitches and all type of sounds that are "sounding good/cool" but not necessarily are the best choice for the song your working on and knowing that your not just settling for them and they're better been replaced because your just already "used to hear them for some time". Furthermore , how to make things sound more cohesive during the production sessions and not just to try tie them down together in the mix sessions afterwards.

LM14

Do you always play and record your own guitars and if not which guitar plugins you recommend?(Acoustic and electric).

LM14

When do you fill out split sheets with artists you're working with, and have you ever had a tough time with it or had to maneuver through awkward situations on royalty splits?

Amber

At what time is the right time to get a manager? What things will you have to be doing by yourself if you don't have one? (excuse my ignorance I know nothing about it lol)

rayael

Is there a distinct feeling to your creative process that you need to get into before you do your best work, or do you just sit down and immediately enter the creative mode? I'm asking because it feels to me like even on my creative days, there is a threshold I need to pass before I can be creative. Thank you!

What advice would you give new artists on releasing music?

How do you overcome writers block? Or a lack of motivation/ideas?

Before going on stage, do you feel any anxiety or nervousness? If you do, what kind of pre-show ritual do you have to get rid of it?

Kevin N Hua

How do you find inspiration when you need it. Where do you go or what do you to get back in the creative mindset for writing music

Amber

What learned skill gave you the most self fulfillment/positive feedback in or out of music?

What are some mentalities you had/used to push yourself throughout your music career and how did they change over time?

what would you say was the most difficult thing for u when starting out in music production and how to get more attention in a country where bass music and EDM is not really much appreciated ? Thanks :)

Which producers/musicians do you tend to work with most smoothly?

Amero Demetri

What are you favorite ways to layer basses in your drops?

Dylan

Having a bit of struggle getting my tracks on Spotify playlists. Any tips to find and to start getting on more user ones?

RENN

Hi! How do you get out of songwriting loops or uninspired periods? Currently feeling like every melody and chord progression I write sucks.

What are some of the techniques or strategies you use to continue to improve your song writing/sound design? and What are some of the differences you notice between an ok song, a good song, and a great song?

Aaron DeAngelis

Apologize for the drawn out response! Thanks dude!

About to graduate with a film degree although I’ve found that I don’t have much of an interest in it anymore. I do really enjoy making music however nothing I’ve made is much good since it’s kinda just a hobby. I know it’s never too late to start creating however adult responsibilities sometimes can get in the way of diving deeper into that hobby, especially as you get older. With that said, my question is, if you’ve ever been in this situation, or know anyone who has, basically what’s some advice you have in order to get more involved or things to do that can improve my skills as a creator with limited free time!

Good one! Absolutely.

BLANKE

Could you walk us through your daily routine if you have one? Or at least any routine you use to get in a creative mindset?

lol yessir can definitely do that

BLANKE

What advice would you want to give your 20 year old self?

Can we get a psychonaut breakdown?? Fav track right now 😤
