Chase's Diary Entry #34: The Magic Horse

The Magic Horse, by Deacon Hollow, age 10 1/2

Once upon a time, there was a white horse named Magic, who lived in a castle in a forest with a lot of other horses and some people who were his friends. The king who owned the castle had two hundred thousand horses, but Magic was his best horse, because Magic had a secret: he could fly and also he could stand up on two legs, and he was the nicest horse.

One day Magic went for a walk in the woods and fell down a hole! He fell a long way and went all the way through the whole planet and fell out the other side, but he didn't get hurt because his long horse legs could land from very high up and also he could fly.

The horse Magic was alone and very scared, but not really because he was also very brave. He walked around for a long time and he got hungry and also thirsty and he was tired and his feet hurt. He didn't know how to get home!!

Then Magic met a kid named Deacon, who gave him carrots and bread and candy from the store, and Magic felt better!! He was happy he met Deacon and let him ride on his back and they went all the way around the country on a trip and said hi to everybody. There was a race for horses that day in the middle of town and Magic saw the race and wanted to race too, because he was the fastest horse in the world. He didn't use his flying because that would be cheating but he was still faster. He jumped into the race and ran so fast that he was done in no time and everyone else was still at the beginning. They won a huge trophy and a lot of money that they gave to charity, but they kept the trophy.

There was a man in town who wanted to buy Magic but Deacon said, "get lost you creep" and the man started to cry. He ran away and everyone laughed at him because actually he was really mean to everyone and no one liked him because he owned the store and wouldn't sell you things you wanted unless he charged a lot for them. Deacon and Charlie and Magic rode into his store and pushed everything over and all the snacks when all over the place and they said, "now you have to sell things for free, or almost free," and the man was upset. Everyone got ice cream and chips for 5 cents and the whole town had lunch. And then later they had a party in the park and there were balloons and cake and lots of other horses that Magic could play with. They had music too and a pool. Everyone had fun and said it was the best party in the town!

Magic went home with Deacon and they made him a nice bed in Deacon's closet with a pillow and blankets and some toys and some hay and trees that horses like to eat. And they went to school together every day, and the teacher would say, “Whaaaaattt??? Why is there a horse here????” and everyone would laugh. And Charlie would get to ride Magic too when he wanted, but only if Magic said he could.
