0.6.2 is out!

After an extremely long delay 6.2 is finally out. To clarify, the reason for the delays was that finding a writer was extremely difficult. I didn't want to continue working on CFQ alone cuz I didn't think it was sustainable for a long.

I met many talented writers, some lots more talented than I am, but none really fit our established writing style. The narration is off, the characters seem inconsistent and out of place. Same goes for editing. I've pretty much given up on finding someone I can entrust with all the writing without rewriting the whole novel. There's one last person who could become our new editor. Hope we can continue working on the next demos, but if it doesn't work out, so be it. I won't waste any more effort on searching for a writer and will just finish writing CFQ myself.

This demo has first animation, so let us know what you think. Ideally, I would like to have an animation for every scene, but the budget won't allow for that. We'll do our best to include at least one animation per full update, unless you dislike them.

I've also been busy talking to sound engineers and voice actresses. We already hired a guy to do SFX for the future updates. A fully voiced Vallabelle is not feasible, but partial voice acting could be possible for some important scenes. Voice acting will probably come last.

I still haven't started writing 6.3. I'll hop on it after the weekend. Our goal is still to release a demo every ten days or so.

Regarding the animation, I think it looks good for a first attempt. Personally, I would have added less movement to Vellabelle — just some subtle breathing and slight motion. It’s also important to maintain coherence with the moment: for example, if Durrak asks Vellabelle to do something that would require a different position, then that animation should be shown. If not, it’s better to avoid that kind of text, as it creates a disconnect with the scene. In my opinion, the best animations are the simplest visually, but they enhance the immersion. For instance, subtle breathing from Vellabelle (a slight expansion of the chest), a slight twitch or movement of the penis — in dialogue or healing scenes, these small touches add a lot of impact. If you get to the point of adding a handjob scene, I suggest inserting short pauses between lines of dialogue while the motion continues. Pauses can increase the tension — but use them sparingly, only in key moments where Vellabelle might hesitate, and Durrak persuades her again.

I just finished playing the new version and wanted to share some thoughts — I hope they can be useful. I’ve been playing this type of game for years and have supported many creators with amazing projects like yours. Based on my experience as a player, and after seeing how many Patreon games slowly lose their audience, I’ve noticed there’s always one key factor that marks the beginning of that decline: Trying to give players exactly what they ask for. Yes, it might sound ironic, but that’s exactly the wrong approach. Just look at your game: there hasn’t been a single sexual scene — not even a handjob — and yet we’re all hooked on your game. Most players don’t notice it, but that’s exactly what makes your story more intense, more immersive. They think they want to see the female protagonist corrupted right away, but once that happens, trust me: the interest starts to fade. Many times, it’s the very desire of the player that ruins what made the game special. My advice is: keep the balance you’ve already achieved. Let the bond between the main couple grow stronger, let the love and tension build slowly. Don’t let Vellabelle lose her innocence or become just another generic lewd character. Let Durrak keep doing his thing (as you’ve smartly written), but protect Vellabelle’s essence. That’s what makes her captivating — what makes everything feel forbidden and emotionally powerful. Now, I’m not saying you should never include scenes like a handjob, oral sex, etc. What I’m saying is: don’t take away the qualities that make Vellabelle Vellabelle. That’s the magic. That’s what keeps the player emotionally hooked. But again: don’t make Vellabelle fall in love with Durrak or become obsessed with his cock. Instead, allow others to manipulate or take advantage of her subtly and intelligently, just like Durrak does. Honestly, your art and storytelling are incredible. I truly want this game to succeed, because the story you’re building really deserves it. The games with the most loyal patrons are always the ones that reveal little, keep the tension high, and slowly build emotional and sexual anticipation. This update was great — keep it up! By the way, regarding the amount of content, I personally enjoy shorter updates. They’re easier to digest and often feel more satisfying.

We're still figuring things out. Our animator made like 10 edits, he worked really hard on this. Maybe the problem was that I didn't not specially designed this scene to be animated and had to edit and redraw it to fit 2d animation. Hopefully we can improve the next animations.

Fantastic update broski, keep it up! Update every 10 days seems ambitious, so don't be scared to scale back a bit if you need to. As long as this game isn't abandonded, I'll keep paying!

SIDE SIDE note! The animation scene was decent but the angle you made the scene for didn't match up with what durrak was narrating and seeing for himself rather than this side view we got i think for how the dialogue was written we should have gotten a somewhat birdeye view from durrak position and saw her 'attempt" to twerk or clap her cheeks whatever she was doing and again a two or three frame motion of her cheeks clapping and colliding with rippling would have been way more on par with what durrak was describing rather than the still stiff animation we got from a side angle this scene felt like we were being deprived of what was being narrated its no big deal though her doing this again could be something durrak asks for again and maybe you can try it from the angle im describing, again though this is another reason "still" animations will always be limiting imo, still enjoying everything so far thanks again for your hard work!

Thoughts on the update. I thought the update was good the scenes were good im still iffy on the animation it was ok but i think two frame motions can be more expressive overall the animations were not as bad as i thought they would be if animations will delay the game more i prefer they not be in the game rn though, also the two frame animation were durrak slapped vellas ass updates ago was infinitely more expressive than if it had been a single frame "animation" that's the main reason i don't like this type of animation because i feel it takes away alot from the art by just having moving single frame stills. Two or three frame motions allow you to be more creative. The sound was ok but it didn't add much to the game i rather hear Vella ass clapping than the sound of durrak jerking his cock i feel one should have clearly been prioritized overall sound was not great imo i rather sound be added later if this is the best we get, hearing durrak tell valle to clap her cheeks but all we hear is him jerking his cock is honestly a turn off. Everything else was great story wise even though Valle did have some push back it felt like she gave in a lot faster and durrak didn't even have to rely on his tricks to make her do something Valle was still in character but seemed a lot less bothered by stuff even in last update would make her furious. Its not a deal breaker especially cause i know eventually it will get hard to progress the story. Anyways good update overall i think the animation and sound should not be prioritized right now if it will make updates take longer imo the sound didn't add anything to the experience and the animation was ok nothing special, sound could be prioritized if it’s more “neuron activating sounds” rather than Durrak jerkin it, thanks again for your work hope next update comes sooner and i hope you can talk to us more frequently about potential delays game continues to be great good luck finding your rhythm. SIDE note i still think Durrak cum could look a lot more grotesque i don't know how to explain it maybe making a bit more yellow and maybe adding some cloudy "sex: musk to the erotic scenes would make the erotic scenes better considering durrak himself is grotesque i think the erotic scenes look too "clean" i still think the cum you draw looks too much like a blob and too round rather than a stringy sticky splatter. The way the cum looks so round and shiny looks weird to me it might just be a reflection of your art style but a small adjustment to how you draw it would add alot to the scenes cause sometimes its doesn't even look like cum just look like a blob.
