Status Update : CG Animations being reworked within the game engine

Here is an update regarding the animation of the CGs :


At the moment, we are reworking the animations to be handled directly within the game engine (Unity), as they represent pretty much 70% of the size of the game and we still have lots of them to come !

Why are we doing that and what does that mean ?


- the size of the files related to the animations is quite smaller, which means the size of the game builds will also be smaller (so less data on the disk and faster upload/download)

- the game performances should improve on the "Gallery Screen", where most of the CGs are currently accessible

- the animations can be tweaked more easily and allow us to make small improvements on the fly (almost)

- the addition of voice acting for said CGs will also be made easier, as little changes are possible without redoing it all, to have a perfect sync (well, almost)

- the variations already existing could made the creation of additional variations quicker and allow for different movement/speed (think of the Bunyy CG1, which only has two variations right now)


Overall, this should be beneficial for everybody especially in the long run, most of currently ingame animations will only have a slight difference once reworked, some will have a more "ample" movement and some will have an "afterglow" loop after a climax (replacing the still image), for example.


As for the Desert Area, now that the Scorpion Enemy is done, next in line is the Snake Enemy, as well as CGs for this area.

Also coming along, the 4th Adventurer to join the party and a last (for now) town location !
