[Little Sh*t Series] The best hero ever

The media storm surrounding the school had quickly dissolved into chaos, reporters yelling at every poor soul who walked within eyeshot in the hopes of a comment on the situation. They didn't seem to believe it, when the students said they had no more information, so instead they had settled for crowding together in their dorms, waiting out the storm.

A knock at the front door had them all tensing up, but when Iida spotted the familiar furry face he hurried to unlock it, bowing low as he apologised for taking so long. Under each arm, Principal Nedzu held tiny likenesses of their teachers, and it took Midoriya a surprisingly long time to remember that no, they were in fact the real thing.

"Is everything okay, Sir?" Midoriya asked cautiously. "Can we help at all?"

"I'm glad you asked, Midoriya. As you have probably realised, all our staff are currently focussed on keeping the media at bay and preventing attacks. The villains unfortunately have taken notice of the fact that we're distracted, and have started to act."

"And we can help?" Bakugou perked up, scarlet eyes growing wide as a smirk spread across his face. "Hell yeah!"

"We've decided it might be for the best if you could all help to take care of these two."

Bakugou immediately sank back into a scowl, and Midoriya's jaw dropped, staring at the limp, dark-haired form and the squirming blond.

"You've been through it a few times now, so we were going to seek your advisory anyway, but with these latest turns we thought it may be prudent for them to remain here where they are relatively safe."

"You can count on us, Sir!" Kirishima grinned, throwing himself onto the couch between Bakugou and Midoriya, draping his arms around their shoulders fondly. "Our resident married couple have it under control!"

Bakugou glared at him, but the Principal shrugged it off. He was smart enough not to go down that rabbit hole.

"Great, take good care of them!"

With that he set the two toddlers on the floor and left again, closing the door firmly behind himself, and Bakugou immediately rounded on Kirishima.

"What the fuck, dude?! Volunteering me for babysitting duty?! Aren't you meant to be my friend you piece of shit?!"

"But it'll be such good practice for when you have kids of your own!" Kirishima grinned.

Midoriya looked up just in time to see the last of his classmates sneak out, sighing loudly as Bakugou and Kirishima argued. He fiddled with his shiny silver ring as he waited for them to finish, only looking up again when Kirishima swung himself over the back of the sofa, grinning as he darted off to the elevators. Bakugou realised his mistake too late, finally noticing the empty room, and Midoriya shot him a weak smile as he cursed up a storm.

"You took care of me," he pointed out, watching Bakugou's jaw snap shut. "How bad can they be?"

"I'm used to you," Bakugou grumbled, slumping against his hand. "Ugh, we don't even know how  long it'll last."

"Well, if it doesn't get fixed, we could always adopt them!" Midoriya grinned, ducking when Bakugou swiped at him half-heartedly. "How cool would it be to say we were All Might and Eraserhead's Dads?"

"I'm a fuckin' high school student, no way am I adopting a damn brat."

"Even All Might?"

"Shut up, nerd."

Midoriya jumped when he felt a little hand tug at his pants, clambering up onto the couch between them silently.

"Oh! Aiz- Um, Sh-Shouta? Hi! Do you remember me? I'm Izuku! This is Kacch- Um, Katsuki!"

Aizawa didn't speak, simply laying his head in Midoriya's lap. Midoriya gaped for a moment, but quickly found the presence of mind to reach for a blanket, tucking it over him as he closed his eyes and settled in for a nap. When he looked up, Bakugou rolled his eyes, groaning as he slid off the couch to contemplate the tiny blond figure.

"Oi," he growled. "What are you holding?"

"Toshi has nothin'!"

"Lying little brat. Show me."

He gripped the kid's wrist – surprisingly gently, Midoriya couldn't help but notice – and when the fingers popped open a little grey lizard crawled up his arm. Bakugou cursed again, plucking it from his arm and marching over to a window to drop it outside.

"Waaaaa! Toshi's lizzy!"

"The thing'll die if you keep it in here, is that what you want?"

"No," he pouted. "Toshi wanted to play with it more!"

"We play with lizards outside," Bakugou said firmly. "Not in the living room."

"Toshi wants to go outside."

"Toshi needs a fuckin' bath," Bakugou grumbled, wiping his hand on his pants. "The hell have you been doing all weekend?"

"Toshi found lots of lizzies!"

"Yeah, no fuckin' kidding."

Midoriya smiled weakly when Bakugou glanced over, gesturing helplessly at the toddler sleeping peacefully in his lap, and with a frustrated huff he looked back at All Might – at Toshi – again.

"Take good care of him, Kacchan!" Midoriya said brightly. "If he gets hurt I'll never forgive you!"

"Shut up, asshole."

There was a sense of joking in the warning, but Bakugou knew better than to believe it. If All Might ended up even even a scratch on him, Midoriya was going to kick his ass for it.

"We can go play with lizards for ten minutes but then you gotta take a damn bath, got it?"

"Kay!"

"Fine, fuckin' come on, then."

He led the kid outside to the garden and crouched beside him, sitting back on his heels as he watched. Toshi immediately dug into the dirt with his hands, not a care in the world for his cleanliness, and Bakugou found himself oddly curious as he watched him play.

"How old are you, Toshi?"

"Four."

"Seems right," Bakugou sighed, leaning his head on his hand again. "You like lizards?"

"Uh huh!"

"Good to know."

"Mister like lizzies too?" Toshi asked, holding one up proudly and shoving it in Bakugou's face.

"Uh, yeah, sure."

"What's Mister's name?"

"Katsuki," he answered, wondering too late if it was the right decision.

"Kacchuhi?"

"Oh God, not this again," he grumbled. "Bakugou is fine too."

"Baka-go!"

"Ugh, no. Uh, shit, um..." He paused, hating himself before he even said the words. "Try Kacchan."

"Kacchan!"

"Fuckin' of course. Alright, Kacchan it is."

"Okay! Does Kacchan wanna hold lizzy?"

He paused with a scowl on his lips, looking down at the huge eyes that stared up at him so innocently, so eager to share his fun, and before he even realised it, he was nodding.

"Be gentle, lizzy is small."

"Like Toshi."

"Toshi is big!" he pouted. "Toshi is gonna be the best hero ever!"

"Yeah, I'm sure you are."

The boy fell silent, and after a moment Bakugou looked up from the tiny lizard in his hands, back to the wide, clear eyes that stared at him.

"What're you lookin' at?"

"Kacchan thinks Toshi can be a hero?"

"Fuckin' obviously, idiot. Why wouldn't you be?"

Toshi looked away, tracing patterns in the dirt with his fingertip, his lower lip jutting out into a little pout. Bakugou watched silently, letting him gather his thoughts before he pressed the matter further.

"People say you can't?"

"Toshi doesn't have a quirk," he grumbled.

"Haah?"

Bakugou's jaw dropped, piecing bits and pieces together slowly, and Toshi watched silently as the lizard jumped down and ran back into the flowers.

"Kacchan has a quirk?"

"Huh? Ah, yeah, I do."

"A good quirk?"

"The best quirk. You know why it's the best?"

"Nuh-uh."

"Cos it's mine," he smirked. "That makes it the best automatically."

"Show Toshi."

Bakugou double-checked the lizards were gone before he lifted a hand, popping off tiny explosions in his palm that made Toshi marvel at him. When he stopped, Toshi looked up expectantly, waiting for more, but Bakugou only forced a pathetic attempt at a smile.

"You're gonna be a hero. No matter what. You just gotta want it bad enough, right?"

"Uh-huh!"

"Shall we go take a bath now?"

"Kay!"

They made their way back inside, and Bakugou picked up the bag Principal Nedzu had brought with them. Inside he found some clean clothes, keeping them safely out of reach of the dirt-covered former-hero, and he set them on a little shelf next to a towel.

"Okay, go get clean, your stuff is all here for after."

"Kacchan will be here after?"

"Yeah, idiot. I'll be down this hall, where we started."

"Kay."

"Make sure you get clean, doofus. If I see a speck of dirt left on you, you'll be in big trouble."

"Toshi will get clean."

"Good boy."

Bakugou shut the door and trudged his way back to the common area, groaning as he fell onto the couch. Midoriya gave him a soft smile, and Bakugou grumbled again in response, shoving him in the shoulder roughly.

"Don't look at me like that, nerd."

"Like what, Kacchan?"

"Like that."

Midoriya giggled, but turned his gaze away obediently, down to where Aizawa slumbered peacefully over his leg. It was the weirdest position Bakugou had ever seen someone sleep in, it couldn't possibly be comfortable, but here he was, dead to the world, with Midoriya's hand occasionally stroking lightly along his back, reassuring him.

"All Might was quirkless?" Bakugou asked quietly, watching Midoriya tense up. "He's four and doesn't have one, he told me."

"Yeah," Midoriya nodded, smiling awkwardly. "I guess that's why he liked me."

Bakugou snorted, but didn't bother trying to find the words to explain the gesture, instead reaching out to touch the silver band around Midoriya's finger. Midoriya smiled at him with the warmth of a thousand suns, and Bakugou found himself blushing as he looked away again in a hurry.

"Hungry," Aizawa mumbled, eyelids blinking open just enough to peek out.

"Oh! Yeah! Food!" Midoriya nodded. "I'll find you something!"

"I'll cook," Bakugou halted him, as he began to rise from the couch. "You stay."

"Thank you, Kacchan. You're the best."

"Don't I know it."

With a last sigh he trudged out to the kitchen, rifling through cupboards and searching the fridge for ingredients. He began to relax a little as he chopped vegetables, the short, sharp motions and the weight of the knife in his hand both oddly therapeutic. As he threw the pieces into a pot to cook, he heard shuffling down the hall, looking up as Toshi stopped. His hair hung damp around his face, his dirty clothes clutched in his hands, and for a moment he hesitated as he looked up.

"Leave your shit in the hall, I'll make the nerd wash it."

"Toshi's gonna help!"

He launched himself onto the counter where Bakugou was cutting meat, immediately crashing into an overhead cupboard. Bakugou swore under his breath as he set his knife aside in a hurry, using the cleanest part of his arm to drag Toshi back onto the ground.

"Cut it out," he growled, washing his hands finally while Toshi pouted at him. "You're gonna hurt yourself, dipshit. There's hot shit and sharp shit up here."

"Wanna help!"

"Then ask, dumbass! Don't launch yourself onto a bench with no idea what's on it! I'll get you a chair to stand on, jesus christ."

"Toshi can do it!"

He wrapped his hands around the legs of a chair, dragging it toward himself, and Bakugou yelled incomprehensibly when the chair tipped, bearing down on Toshi as he hit the ground.

"Are you trying to get yourself killed?!" he demanded, righting the chair before it could crush the child. "I never thought I'd say this, but why can't you be more like Aizawa?!"

The boy's lower lip quivered, his eyes watering, and Bakugou froze.

"It's not Toshi's fault he doesn't have a quirk!" he cried.

"What?! That's not what I meant, you dumbshit kid! For fuck's sake!"

He scooped Toshi off the ground, pulling him in to his chest before he even stopped to think about the action, surprising even himself when he found the tiny frame in his arms, sobbing into his shirt.

"I know you want to help," he said softly. "But you're still a kid. You're gonna help, one day, but stop trying to get ahead of yourself."

"I wanna help."

"You can. Just... Just ask, first. That's all I need, okay? Ask me how you can help."

Bakugou had never thought of himself as a paternal person, he'd never cared about love or marriage or starting a family. Sure, his mother insisted she needed grandkids one day, but he had no qualms about telling her to shove it. Maybe it was influenced by the developments with Midoriya, maybe it was his attachment to the hero in front of him, regardless of form, or maybe some kind of weird instinct had awoken inside of him, but somehow Bakugou found himself feeling... Protective.

"Alright," he said finally, setting the quieting toddler on the ground. "We're making curry, so I'm gonna need lots of rice. You know how to wash rice?"

Toshi nodded.

"Good, then that's your job. C'mere."

He dragged a chair over to the sink, letting Toshi climb up – carefully, thank christ – and turned the tap on to a gentle flow. Armed with a big bowl of rice and a sieve, Toshi set to work with vigour, scrubbing at the grains like his life depended on it. With the kid safely occupied, Bakugou managed to get the rest of the dish cooking, complete with two different pots of sauce – one extra spicy, the other insanely mild.

"Toshi wants to try."

"He really doesn't," Bakugou muttered, as he transferred the clean rice into the rice cooker. "Trust me on this one, kid."

"Toshi wants to try!"

"Deku'll kill me if you burn your mouth because I didn't say no hard enough."

"Toshi wants to tryyyyyy!"

"Fucking fine."

Bakugou dipped a spoon in the sauce, bringing it out with the tiniest drip of liquid on the end, and Toshi beamed as he stuck it in his mouth eagerly. The expression changed almost instantly, his face contorting, cheeks burning red, eyes beginning to water. Bakugou offered him a glass of milk knowingly, watching him gulp it down so fast he was surprised the kid didn't puke.

"Toshi still want to try?" he sneered.

"No," Toshi pouted. "Toshi just wants rice."

"The other pot is for you," Bakugou explained, handing him a spoonful despite the wary look in Toshi's eyes. "Why do you think I made two in the first place?"

He licked it tentatively, and when Bakugou raised a questioning eyebrow, he nodded.

"Kay. Toshi likes that one."

"Good. Now, does Toshi still want to help?"

"Uh-huh!"

"Good, because the magic curry bowls need rescuing from the evil cupboard."

Smiling again, Toshi clambered down from his chair, retrieving four big bowls and laying them out extra carefully at the table. He hunted through the drawers next, mumbling something about Princess Spoon, and by the time the rice was cooked he had four neatly-laid-out place settings, looking up at Bakugou with a proud smile on his face.

"Think you can hunt down Queen Deku and Prince Aizawa and tell them dinner is ready?"

"Uh-huh!"

He ran off down the hall, and Bakugou sighed in his moment of peace, taking the opportunity to dish out all the hot stuff while Toshi wasn't around to end up burnt. He rinsed the dishes out and left them in the sink to finish later, and soon the pitter-patter of tiny feet returned to him. Toshi stood tall, raising a hand to his forehead in a clumsy salute.

"Reporting in, Mister Kacchan, Sir! The special people are on their way!"

Cracking a little smile, Bakugou returned the gesture, saluting to a gleeful child.

"Good work, Hero Toshi. Come consume the curry of power before your next mission begins."

"Yes, Sir!"

Midoriya grinned to himself as he settled Aizawa in a chair, slipping into his own and sneaking a glimpse at Bakugou's face across the table.

"I can't believe we have two sons and we aren't even together yet."

Bakugou flushed bright red, all the way down his neck, and Midoriya couldn't help but giggle at him. He fiddled with his ring, seeing Bakugou's eyes dart to it, watching him swallow hard.

"Yet?" he asked tentatively.

"You said I could be your wife," Midoriya reminded him, pointing at his ring, the engravings warm against his finger. "Doesn't that mean we're gonna be together at some point?"

"W-Well, yeah, I mean, I... I want-"

"Mister Kacchaaaan," Toshi whined, tugging at his sleeve. "Toshi's hero fuel is too hot."

"Then wait or some shit, dumbass, I was talking."

"But Toshi wants it now."

"Then blow on it! God damn!"

Toshi pouted, and Bakugou let out a long, low sigh, pressing a hand to his forehead and forcing himself to smooth out the creases.

"Sorry," he mumbled, Midoriya's eyes widening. "I didn't mean to snap."

"S'okay."

"Look, just... Grab another plate and you can spread it out, okay? It'll cool faster."

Toshi nodded, climbing down to find a second plate to use, and Bakugou kept his eyes on the kid's back the entire time. He refused to look away, refused to meet Midoriya's heavy gaze, refused to admit he'd chickened out of the words he was about to say anyway.

"Thank you for cooking dinner, Kacchan," Midoriya said instead, when he realised the end of the sentence wasn't going to come. "It's really good."

"Toshi helped a bunch."

"Yeah? No wonder it's so good, thanks Toshi!"

"Don't eat the spicy pot," Toshi warned him, eyes falling dead serious. "It hurts."

"I'll keep it in mind," Midoriya giggled, watching Bakugou smirk. "Is it yummy, Kacchan?"

"The best."

By the time they finished emptying their bowls, Aizawa was already half-asleep again, clutching pointedly at Midoriya's leg as he helped clean the dishes. Every so often, between plates, he reached down to pat a tiny shoulder, giving him a comforting smile.

"Bedtime soon, I promise."

With the kitchen clean they made their way up to the bedrooms, giving their classmates free reign of the common area to make their own food, and after some quiet contemplation and discussion, Bakugou found himself dragging a mattress through a stairwell.

"Toshi will help!" the little blond boy declared, when Bakugou shoved the mattress through the doorway with a huff. "Toshi has blankets!"

"Thanks, Toshi."

He managed to fumble one corner of a fitted sheet into place, while Bakugou hooked the other three on, and soon they had two kid-sized beds made up, side by side across the length of the mattress. Midoriya tucked Aizawa into one of them, the boy barely stirring other than to pull tighter at his blankets, and Toshi pouted when Bakugou pointed at the other bed, but conceded all the same, grumbling as he crawled under the blankets.

"Tomorrow we can watch a movie or something," Midoriya promised him knowingly. "But it's been a big day today, you need to get some rest."

"Fine," he grumbled. "But you gotta read Toshi a story."

"Say please, asshole," Bakugou warned him, getting another pout in return.

"It's okay Kacchan, he only just met us and-"

"This is why you were such a little shit," Bakugou scowled. "No exceptions. Toshi, if you want a damn story, you ask nicely."

"Can I please have a story?"

"See? Was that so damn hard?"

Midoriya smiled, sitting down beside their makeshift bed and making a quick search on his phone. Bakugou sat on the edge of the bed as Midoriya began to read, leaning his head on his hand as he listened. It was familiar, some old hero book from when they were kids, but Bakugou had never really cared that much for fairytales and the like. He much preferred the stories about real heroes, people he could watch on TV doing new stuff instead of just having one old story and nothing more. Mostly he'd just liked the All Might stories.

He snorted to himself at the thought, getting a quick glance from Midoriya, but the young man didn't break his stride, continuing with the story like nothing had happened.

There was probably a DVD collection in the room, it shouldn't be too hard.

He was gonna find a damn All Might movie.

─────

It was barely five o'clock when Bakugou woke, taking a moment to piece together his thoughts. In the week since he was a toddler himself, he'd found himself disoriented in the mornings, always taking a moment to reassure himself that all his limbs were the proper size. That morning, though, he found them wrapped around a comforting figure - broad shouldered, messy haired, and somehow a perfect fit in Bakugou's arms. He allowed himself a moment of softness, snuggling in against a back littered with scars, breathing deeply as he nuzzled a warm neck.

"Tickles," Midoriya whined, rolling over to face him and pulling him in tighter. "Sleeping, Kacchan."

"Keep sleeping," Bakugou smiled faintly, sneaking the tiniest kiss onto Midoriya's freckled shoulder. "You've got a while."

"Should we talk?"

"No, you'll wake the kids."

"Mmkay."

Midoriya fell silent, and Bakugou's stomach sank, dreading again the thought of forcing the awkward discussion.

"It's okay," Midoriya murmured, when he felt Bakugou tense up. "I have my ring, I can wait."

"You don't have to wear it twenty-four seven, you know."

"I'm gonna."

After a hour of snoozing, Bakugou finally slipped his way out, patting Midoriya's side in apology when he whined. He would have loved to stay, even he wouldn't deny that, but his bladder was a stubborn bastard.

"Kacchan?" a tiny voice asked, when he washed his hands and pushed the bathroom door open.

"Morning, Toshi. You can go back to sleep if you want."

"Toshi's awake."

"Want to come cook breakfast with me, then?"

"Yeah!"

Bakugou waved him toward the sink where his toothbrush remained from the night prior, watching him like a hawk as he cleaned himself up. They left Aizawa and Midoriya to their peaceful slumber, plodding down the stairs, and Bakugou immediately began handing Toshi containers from the pantry.

"Yummy breakfast?" Toshi asked, as he obediently transferred packages to the counter.

"Pancakes."

"Best breakfast!"

"Yeah? Good. Gonna need your help though."

"Toshi can help!"

"I know."

Together they began measuring and sifting, beating together a giant bowl of liquid, and Toshi tilted his head as he contemplated it.

"Toshi can't eat this many pancakes."

"I know," Bakugou snorted. "I thought we could make some for my classmates."

"Okay!"

"I was kind of an asshole to them, so the pancakes have to be good enough to make them not hate me."

"People hate Kacchan?"

Bakugou shrugged, and Toshi watched him with wide eyes, shoulders slumping sadly.

"Toshi thinks Kacchan is nice."

"Thanks. Toshi isn't bad either."

They worked in a peaceful quiet for a while, until Bakugou heard footsteps on the stairs, glancing up to see who the early riser was. He was a little surprised to see Kirishima round the corner, but the redhead just smiled at him, patting Toshi on the head lightly as he approached.

"Making breakfast?"

"Pancakes. Want some?"

"Seriously? Can I?"

Bakugou nodded, gesturing toward the massive bowl, and for a moment the room remained silent.

"Made enough for everyone, I think. I, uh, I hope."

"What brought this on?"

"I'm an asshole, don't pretend otherwise."

Kirishima frowned slightly as he considered the words, lighting up when he finally caught on.

"You mean the other day?! Dude you were the worst! Seriously, like, no wonder you aren't engaged to Midoriya yet, wow, but also that's, like, in the past, right?"

"I hope so."

"I wanted to punch you so bad," Kirishima laughed, pausing again for a moment. "Hey, you're tough now, can I punch you?"

"Haah?"

"Just once, please? It'll make me feel so much better. I'll never ask again, I promise!"

Bakugou eyed him warily, stepping away from the counter.

"If I let you, you can never mention it again."

"Of course not!"

"Not the punch," Bakugou grumbled. "The whole... Thing."

"Oh. Yeah, deal."

"Do it."

"What? Seriously?"

"Yeah, I get it. Do it. Not in the nose or the eye, I'm cooking."

"Dude, hell yes," Kirishima grinned, winding back and letting his arm harden.

"You never said anything about your fucking quirk!"

His fist landed heavily in Bakugou's stomach, sending him backwards, and Toshi squeaked as he turned and watched him fly into the wall.

"I'm good," Bakugou grunted, giving Toshi a thumbs up. "Don't worry."

Kirishima offered him a hand, hauling him upright and waiting a moment for him to steady himself.

"I feel better," Kirishima grinned. "I know I don't normally do stuff like that, but it was so satisfying."

"Yeah, why do you think I do it a bunch?"

"Cos you're kind of an ass?"

"Other than that, fucker. Now you never mention it again."

"Deal! Need any help with the pancakes?"

"Nah, we're good."

He limped back to the stove, smiling awkwardly when Toshi looked at him with eyes full of concern.

"I'm a hero, dumbass. You think I can't take one punch?"

"Kacchan is amazing."

"You know, I hear that a lot," he snorted. "Yeah, I'm pretty damn great."

By the time Midoriya made his way down to the kitchen, Aizawa settled on his hip, half the class was gathered to laugh and chat and scoff pancakes. Bakugou remained at the stove, stacking fresh pancakes and sending them to the table in Toshi's hands. It was a bustling picture, an unusually happy scene, and for a minute Midoriya just stopped to watch them fondly.

"There you are, nerd," Bakugou called over the ruckus, when he caught Midoriya staring. "Find a seat, I'm cooking yours now."

He'd perfected his art over the course of the morning, so his motions were precise as he began to pour batter again, and Midoriya grinned at his classmates as he squeezed in. Soon Toshi held a plate stacked with little pancakes, grinning as he hurried over to put them in front of Midoriya proudly.

"Toshi helped!" he declared, smiling wide. "Taste yummy!"

"Thanks Toshi! I bet they're amazing!"

He looked down finally and found himself tearing up, sniffling like an idiot. Every pancake was shaped like a tiny bunny, some with ears up and slightly browned noses, others with little round tails sticking out behind. He found a smirk waiting when he looked up, waving Bakugou over stubbornly.

Bakugou blushed when Midoriya pulled him in, planting a kiss on his cheek, but the rest of the class jut laughed and cooed at them happily. He stumbled over his words for a moment, but Midoriya was already returning to his plate, stuffing his mouth and Aizawa's alike with perfectly cooked bunny pancakes.

"Kacchan is so cute," he fawned, when Uraraka giggled at him. "I can't wait to get married."

Bakugou almost dropped his spoon in the middle of pouring batter, but managed to tighten his grip in the nick of time, clenching his jaw to keep from yelling somwething stupid. He bought a ring, of course stupid Deku was gonna make jokes like that, he just needed to stop letting it get to him.

"Kacchan, flip?"

He glanced at the concerned little face beside him, then at the smoking pan, cursing to himself as he quickly turned the pancake over. Slightly crispy, but nothing anyone would write home about.

"Thanks, Toshi. Got distracted for a moment there."

"Can Toshi eat another?"

"Yeah, you can have as many as you want. You're still hungry?"

"Not hungry but they're yummy, Kacchan."

"Alright, just don't make yourself sick."

He sprinkled it with a little sugar just like the first four, sliding it across the bench for Toshi to pull apart and munch on. He did so with a surprisingly bright smile on his face, and Bakugou found himself reaching out, ruffling blond locks with his clean hand.

"Tasty?"

"So good!"

"I'm glad."

─────

"Toshi wants cookies."

Bakugou looked back, scowling at Toshi's little pout, and pointed sternly at the table.

"I already told you. If you want food, you gotta sit."

"Toshi doesn't wanna sit."

"And Katsuki doesn't give a shit what Toshi wants. Sit."

"Toshi wants cookies."

"Toshi ain't gonna get shit unless he sits the fuck down."

Toshi folded his arms stubbornly, frowning, and for a moment they just stared at each other in silence, waiting for the other to break.

"Toshi's telling Izuku."

Bakugou groaned. It had taken all of one night for the kid to figure out that Midoriya would give him anything he wanted, and immediately all Bakugou's work had gone out the window.

"Fucking hell," he muttered, snatching the bag of cookies and throwing them at Toshi's chest. "Don't open the damn bag until you're sitting on the couch, you hear me? Go sit with damn Deku."

"Cookies!"

Toshi immediately brightened, skipping off to the sofas where Midoriya and Aizawa were waiting, bundled up with blankets in front of the television. Bakugou sighed, shoving the last of the dishes away and following. Midoriya sat with a kid on each side of him, Aizawa halfway across his lap, Toshi scoffing cookies against his side. He scowled, but couldn't bring himself to make one of them move, instead dropping heavily onto the cushions at the farthest end of the couch.

"Kacchaaaaan," Midoriya sang, reaching toward him and making grabbing motions. "Kacchan, come."

He shifted Aizawa into his lap proper, making space to pat the cushions next to him, and with a grumble Bakugou moved. Midoriya leaned into him immediately, snuggling into his side, and Toshi began to whine again before either of them could say a word.

"Toshi wants to sit with Kacchan too," he pouted. "Come back."

"Two minutes ago you were being a little shit and now you think you can have whatever you want?"

"But Toshi sat," he pouted. "Like you said."

With a groan Bakugou levered himself off the couch again, shoving the coffee table aside and gathering all the cushions in the room. He dragged Midoriya and the kids off their seats to obtain their cushions too, and soon they had a big square of pillows and blankets on the floor where they could sprawl in a heap. Midoriya giggled when Bakugou wrapped an arm around his waist, holding him close, and Bakugou conceded a little smirk of his own. With their torsos wound together, the kids snuggled in their laps, Bakugou reached for the remote to press play.

"It's a hero movie, right?" Toshi asked, tugging at Bakugou's sleeve. "Kacchan promised."

"Yeah, the best hero movie ever."

Midoriya hummed along under his breath when the opening theme started, and Bakugou was torn between punching him and kissing him. It was so stupid, so dorky, so incredibly Midoriya that he couldn't stand it.

"Shut up," he grumbled instead, elbowing him in the ribs. "Nerd."

Midoriya just smiled, miming zipping his lips as he lay his head on Bakugou's shoulder to watch.

Toshi was rapt instantly, forgetting his urge for attention and hugs the first moment All Might appeared on screen. He rose to his knees, wriggling closer to the screen to stare, and Bakugou couldn't help but snigger at him. He didn't budge an inch, hardly even blinked through the entire film, until the credits began to roll and he softened into himself a little.

"All Might is so cool," Toshi said wistfully. "Toshi wants to be like All Might."

"You will. Just gotta work hard, remember? We talked about this."

"Not as cool as him though."

"You'll be exactly as cool as him," Midoriya smiled. "I promise."

Toshi glanced back, eyes watery, and after a long pause he dove between them, snuggling into them both.

"Toshi's been big before," he murmured, "they said so."

"Yeah, you're normally big, you're only small for a little while."

"Is Big Toshi a hero?"

"The best hero ever," Midoriya told him sincerely, patting him on the head lightly. "Are you okay, Toshi? You feel warm."

"Toshi is hot."

"Climb on top of the blankets, then. Have a drink, where did your cup go?"

"Toshi is really hot."

"Oh," Bakugou mumbled, watching Midoriya slowly catch on too. "Okay, um, c'mere."

He slid out from Midoriya's grasp, taking the lightest of all the blankets and draping it around his shoulders lightly.

"I know it's hot, but please keep this, okay? It's important. It'll pass soon, I promise."

"Toshi is gonna be a great hero, right?"

"The best hero, I promise. You know why I showed you that movie?"

"Nuh-uh."

"All Might was my hero, when I was little. And Deku's too. We spent all our lives watching All Might and trying to be jut like him."

"Toshi likes All Might."

"I'm really happy you liked him. You know why?"

Toshi shook his head again.

"Because when Toshi is big, he's All Might."

"Huh?"

"All Might is you, Toshi. The best hero ever, the hero we wanted to be just like. That was all you, when you were big. Yagi Toshinori, All Might, the best hero in the whole world. I hope we took good care of you."

"Toshi is... All Might is Toshi?"

"Uh-huh."

"The best," Toshi beamed, hugging Bakugou tightly. "The best care."

"Just sit down and relax, okay? You won't be hot soon."

"Kay."

He sat down, wrapped in the blanket obediently, and Midoriya found himself strangely choked up as he watched the pair. Bakugou stroked lightly at blonde hair, whispering reassurances, but when Toshi pulled a face he took a step back.

"Kacchan, am I-"

He never heard the rest of the question. In an instant the blanket puffed out and Midoriya quickly averted his eyes, raising a hand to use as a blinder.

"G-Good evening, All Might!" he squeaked. "Welcome back!"

"Midoriya, my boy! Young Bakugou! Why are you covering your- oh. I seem to have been through an ordeal."

"You were a kid," Midoriya explained, pointing his free hand at Aizawa snoozing in his lap. "There's a backpack in the corner which I think has some of your adult clothes in it?"

"Thank you, my boy!"

He listened to shuffling as the man moved, neither Bakugou nor Midoriya willing to peek, until finally with a booming laugh he declared his decency.

"Were you boys taking care of us?" he asked, when Midoriya and Bakugou nervously freed their gazes. "Thank you very much!"

"You were a little shit," Bakugou informed him, thumping back onto the cushions. "Worse than Deku."

"You must exaggerate, young Bakugou, I'm sure I didn't scream nearly that much as a child!"

"Yeah but Deku did what I told him."

"Well, he is your wife, so that is-"

"Why do people keep saying that?!" Bakugou snapped, eyebrows furrowed. "We're not married!"

"You were very insistent, my boy."

Bakugou blushed, and Midoriya couldn't help the giggle that escaped him, leaning into Bakugou's side with a grin.

"My husband," he whispered, watching fondly as the flush spread down his neck. "It's okay."

"Shut up," Bakugou grumbled, pulling away stubbornly. "Don't you start too."

"Well, I think I should be getting going, I must let everyone know that I've returned to normal."

"Um, it's late," Midoriya pointed out awkwardly. "Maybe you should sleep here for the night? We don't have your phone or your keys or anything, so, um..."

"You can sleep in my room," Bakugou offered.

"That's most kind of you young Bakugou, but I couldn't possibly-"

"I insist," he interjected, looking away with a little pout. "Deku and I can share his bed again, it's fine."

"A-Again?" All Might asked, cringing when he immediately regretted the question.

"Had to have somewhere for you little shits to sleep," Bakugou shrugged. "You two had my mattress."

"O-Oh. Well, if you're sure you don't mind..."

"Yeah, just let me go hide my porn."

He stood, heading for the halls, and All Might gaped at his back.

"He's kidding," Midoriya offered, smiling awkwardly. "He's just gonna make the bed for you, he's being a jerk."

"At this point, my boy, it would not surprise me if he told me something like that sincerely. He never does what I expect."

All Might took a seat on the edge of the couch, leaning forward to see Aizawa's peaceful face, slumbering in Midoriya's lap.

"Was I as bad as he said?"

"You were fine," Midoriya assured him, smiling softly. "Very sweet. You and Kacchan had a lot of fun together."

"Is that so?"

"You wanted to help with everything. Cooking, especially. Wanted to be a good hero."

He decided in that moment not to mention the movie or the sadness, to push those memories down deep and let them remain hidden from the world. He knew Bakugou would do the same.

"Kacchan took good care of you, I was mostly stuck here. Aizawa-sensei seems to like napping on me."

"It's about time he got some sleep."

"Yeah."

They looked up when Bakugou returned, gesturing toward the stairs vaguely and holding out his key.

"It's all yours. Fourth floor. The sheets are clean, don't worry."

"Thank you, young Bakugou. I appreciate it, and everything else you've done these past few days."

"Yeah, whatever. Go get some sleep, just leave my key in the room and don't lock it when you leave."

"I will. Thank you very much."

With a last little nod he showed himself out, pushing the right button in the elevator to take him up to the room, and Bakugou sighed as he fell into Midoriya's side again, letting the arm snake around his waist.

"We should probably sleep too," he murmured, eyes sinking closed. "It's late."

"Do you think Aizawa-sensei will change back soon too?"

"God knows. It was meant to be like two days ago, right? Could be any time."

"Let's take some cushions up for him to sleep on and we can just leave his clothes beside them."

"I'll take the brat, you grab the stuff."

"Deal."

He climbed up again, this time carefully slipping his arms under Aizawa and lifting him out of Midoriya's lap, settling him gently against his chest. The boy didn't wake, didn't even stir, and Bakugou watched as Midoriya quickly tossed the cushions back on the couches, just bringing two and the blankets when they headed for the elevator.

"Do you want kids one day?" Midoriya asked, nearly making him drop Aizawa in his shock. "It's okay if you say no! I'm just curious!"

"Maybe. Kinda figured we wouldn't have time for it, with hero stuff. That comes first."

"Maybe when we're older," Midoriya agreed. "After one of us retires, or something."

"Are we seriously talking about starting a family?" Bakugou snorted. "You haven't even agreed to a date with me yet, shitty nerd."

"I will!"

"Yeah, I know you will, when all this dumb shit is dealt with and I get a chance to ask, finally."

"No, I will! I will go out with you! You don't have to ask, just tell me when and where!"

Bakugou turned with wide eyes, meeting Midoriya's painfully sincere gaze, broken only when the elevator dinged for their floor.

"Friday," he said quickly, when Midoriya stepped out with a sheepish smile. "Nothing is gonna get in our way, this time."

"Friday!" Midoriya agreed, grinning. "Anywhere you want!"

"I'll make it special."

"Anything is special if it's with Kacchan!"

"Idiot."

He stood in the doorway as Midoriya set up a little bed on the floor, then laid Aizawa in it carefully. Midoriya tucked the blankets over him, smiling softly, and Bakugou found himself reaching for a scarred hand, twining their fingers together.

"I'm excited, Kacchan."

"Yeah," Bakugou nodded, pausing for a moment. "Me too."

─────

Bakugou woke to the click of the bedroom door closing, sunlight streaming in through the crack between curtains. He rolled over, groaning, to find the little bed and the stack of clothing gone, the floor empty beside them.

"Kacchan?" Midoriya murmured.

"Aizawa changed," he yawned, rolling back into Midoriya's grip. "He left."

"Mmkay, that's good." He nuzzled into Bakugou's neck, sighing happily. "Can I stay here a little longer?"

"Like I'd let you leave," Bakugou snorted. "Stay with me."

"You don't have to ask me twice."

He squeezed Bakugou tightly, and in a moment of sleepy weakness, Bakugou squeezed him back. He smiled to himself, burying it in Midoriya's hair, and sighed fondly as he closed his eyes again.

"Sleep, Deku."

"G'night Kacchan."
