The Jealous Type
Added 2019-08-04 10:59:40 +0000 UTCWhen Midoriya saw the two of them together, smiling over their lunch, it made his heart sink a little. He'd been starting to have suspicions for a while, with how much time they spent together, and how much Bakugou allowed him to tease or touch without complaining about it, but he'd never been entirely sure until he saw that little smile. A soft, sweet look, genuinely happy, not the sharp smirk that he aimed at most people.
When Bakugou looked up, catching Midoriya's eye across the room, he couldn't even fake a smile of his own. Trembling, he clutched his books to his chest and hurried his pace a little, escaping the room before he let out a shuddering breath.
It's not like he could blame him. Kirishima was amazing, after all. Kind and caring, intelligent, strong, and Midoriya was just... plain old quirkless Deku, in Bakugou's eyes. Always would be.
"Is everything okay?"
His head snapped up to see a concerned pair of his peering down at him, mismatched in colour, but genuinely caring.
"Yeah!" he sniffed, wiping his eyes stubbornly. "Um, do you still want to go get tea? Together?"
"I thought you said-"
"I know," Midoriya cut him off quickly, nodding. "But, um, things changed, I guess? I'd be honoured if we could go. Together."
"Sure," Todoroki nodded, a smile curling at his lips. "I'd like that."
"Cool!" Midoriya managed a slightly more genuine smile as he nodded again, despite the tears that pricked at his eyes. "I'm looking forward to it!"
A small part of his mind told him it was too soon, that he needed time to move on, but it wasn't like they'd actually been together. He had just made a bunch of baseless assumptions based on his own feelings, had tried to cover up the knowledge that Bakugou had something special, a connection, with someone other than Midoriya.
He was such an idiot.
For the rest of the day, he withdrew into himself, no longer leaning forward to whisper in Bakugou's ear or pass him notes, just keeping to himself until the bell rang and he could escape. He ignored it when Bakugou grunted at him, pretending not to hear as he scurried over to Todoroki's desk.
"Ready to go?" he asked, hoping it came across as genuinely as he wanted it to. "I'm excited!"
"Me too," Todoroki nodded, shouldering his bag. "Let's go."
Leaving Bakugou and the rest of their classmates behind, Todoroki led the way to a sweet little coffee shop he'd become a regular at, before he'd asked Midoriya to join him. All the staff smiled and waved, greeting them brightly, and together they sat at a little table out the front of the store where they could look out over the street and the nearby park where pretty, colourful flowers were beginning to bloom.
"It's so pretty here," he praised, when the waitress came by with their delicate little tea cups and a plate of biscuits. "No wonder you like it so much, Todoroki!"
"It's very relaxing," he agreed. "Nice to unwind after a hard day."
Midoriya wasn't sure if the words were meant to mean something more than they did on the surface, but he felt a pang in his chest all the same, covering the wobble in his smile with a sip from his cup.
"Did something happen at lunch today?" Todoroki asked, a little surprised when Midoriya cringed. "Sorry, should I not ask?"
"It's nothing!" Midoriya assured him. "I just did something silly and was a little embarrassed, that's all! I'm glad to be here with you, to make my day better!"
"I'll do my best."
─────
He'd screwed up.
Bakugou wasn't sure what had possessed him to follow the two nerds, and he'd almost missed them with how quickly they took off, but when he saw them sitting together, smiling so sweetly at each other, his entire being filled with rage. The damn half-and-half bastard was taking his boyfriend out on a date? Like hell if he was gonna let that slide.
"He's not your boyfriend," Kirishima reminded him, when he heard the angry muttering. "Here, you left your jacket in class."
When Bakugou didn't respond, he stuffed it into the bag slung over his shoulder instead, for him to sort out later. It wasn't until he followed the sharp red gaze, glancing across the street, that he caught on.
"Dude, I'm sorry," Kirishima sighed. "But you did try your best to make him think you were taken."
"He was supposed to be fuckin' jealous not run off with the damn halfie."
"Midoriya doesn't really strike me as the jealous type. Maybe you should just tell him how you feel? You know, be direct?"
"Fuck off, that's not how it works."
"I'm pretty sure it is."
"I'm Bakugou Katsuki, I'm not gonna beg the nerd to go out with me."
"It's not begging!"
"He should be begging me to give him the damn time of day! He should be crawling at my feet for the chance to date me!"
"Bro, he's the nicest guy in our class, he's talented and selfless, and he's kinda hot. Do you really think you're the only one chasing him?"
"That's not the point!" Bakugou snapped, squeezing his hands into tight fists. "He's always been at my side, always been watching me, why the hell would he let some asshole go and change that?"
"Because he asked."
Bakugou growled and turned on his heel, stomping away from the cafe like it burned just to be in their presence, and with a sad smile, Kirishima followed.
─────
When they made it back to the dorms, Midoriya was still giggling. Todoroki really was a good friend, did a great job of cheering him up, no matter what happened. He was lucky to have him, incredibly lucky, but when he said his thank yous and hugged Todoroki before they parted ways, Bakugou stormed out of the room, and still he felt his smile fade.
"Is Kacchan okay?" he asked, when he sat down between Uraraka and Ashido, glancing at the homework they were working on together. "He seemed happy with Kirishima earlier, but now he's all cranky."
"Uhhhh," Ashido paused, glancing back at the doorway where Bakugou and Todoroki were both well out of sight. "He's being kind of petty and depressed right now."
"Huh? What happened?"
Ashido looked at him like he was an idiot, and Uraraka gave him a pitying smile and a pat on the shoulder.
"He saw you and Todoroki out for tea," Kirishima explained, thumping onto the floor to look at him across the coffee table. "And now he's all jealous and stuff."
"Jealous? Of what? Why would he be jealous?"
Midoriya wasn't sure if the tightness in his chest came from fear or hope, but either way he gripped hard at the edge of the table and waited for the slightly nervous eyes to meet his gaze again.
"He likes you."
"W-What? But... Don't be silly, aren't you dating him?"
"No! No of course not! He, um... Ugh, he wanted to make you jealous, and it kind of backfired."
"No way, Kacchan isn't stupid, he would tell me if he liked me."
All three of them fell silent, waiting patiently, and Midoriya burned bright red.
"Okay, maybe he is that stupid. Or... That prideful, at least. Oh my gosh, I'm so dumb."
"Listen, he'll get over it," Ashido assured him, patting his back lightly. "If you want to date Todoroki, do it! Bakugou will just have to learn to deal with it!"
Midoriya didn't answer, so with a sad little smile, Uraraka spoke on his behalf.
"Deku likes him too."
─────
Bakugou spotted him too late, only glancing up when the nerd was already in his face, pinning him up against his machine. There was a determined look on his face that Bakugou rarely saw outside of a rescue situation, his eyebrows knitted together, a stubborn frown set across his lips.
“Why the hell did you not just tell me you liked me?” he demanded.
“Haaah?! Who would like a shitty nerd like you?!” Bakugou huffed, cheeks flushed. “Get out of my face, fuckin' loser. Go back to your shitty boyfriend.”
“I don't have a boyfriend, and if you tell me to leave again, I will. So choose your next words carefully.”
Bakugou paused, eyes widening a little, every argument immediately slammed out of his chest and leaving him winded.
“I saw you with icyhot, fucker, and now you say you don't have a boyfriend?” he demanded.
“It was one date, not a... a wedding!”
It was Midoriya's turn to blush, then, as he leaned back a little to give Bakugou some space, looking away with a little pout on his lips.
“I'm taking you on a date,” Bakugou said firmly. “And I'm gonna blow his stupid date out of the fuckin' water.”
“It was really good tea, Kacchan.”
“Shut the fuck up.”
Midoriya grinned, and Bakugou finally cracked a smile of his own. He tried his best to repress it, to hide it, but when he saw the way green eyes lit up at the sight, he thought maybe next time he would just let it out.
“Tomorrow morning,” he told the nerd. “Be ready by eight, wear something nice.”
“How nice?”
“Just no shitty t-shirt t-shirts.”
“Okay! Will Kacchan wear something nice for me, too?” he teased, and Bakugou felt his cheeks burn. “I can't wait to see it. I'll be ready!”
“Yeah. Um, goodnight, nerd.”
“Goodnight, Kacchan!”
He practically skipped out of the room, leaving Bakugou to finish his workout, but for a moment he could only sit and stare after him. He was going on a date. With Midoriya – his Deku. After all the months he'd spent watching him, waiting for him to stutter his blushy little confession to no avail, he was finally, finally, gonna take the nerd on a date. And he had the perfect place to take him.
Midoriya wouldn't even know what hit him.
─────
Midoriya was greeted with a little blue ticket waved in his face, his eyes crossing as he tried to focus on the words. Bakugou just snorted, finally halting, watching his jaw drop as he read.
Admit One: Hero Exhibit (Advance Ticket)
“Kacchan, is this what I think it is?” he gasped, bracing himself on the back of the couch as he leaned in. “Are you serious?! How?!”
“Winner of the sports festival gets the occasional perk,” he smirked. “Heard you'd been trying and failing to get a ticket.”
“I spent weeks trying to book one,” Midoriya whined. “They kept selling out the moment they went on sale!”
He reached to take the ticket, but Bakugou pulled it away in a hurry, draining the last of the liquid from his coffee mug.
“Not so fast, nerd,” he teased, standing up just so he could look down on the pleading eyes. “You gotta go with me.”
“Of course, Kacchan! I wouldn't have it any other way!”
“That's the correct answer,” Bakugou informed him, stuffing the tickets back in his pocket and snatching Midoriya's hand. “Let's go.”
He knew his hand was probably sweaty, and half expected Midoriya to pull away, but with a matching pink glow spreading across both their faces he returned the grasp, lacing their fingers together as they slipped their shoes on and headed out.
There wasn't even a line outside to get in, just a security guard who checked their tickets and waved them through the museum doors, under the watchful gaze of a giant All Might cut-out that stood tall in the entryway. Their hands remained linked, even when Midoriya began to dart back and forth between different displays, oohing and ahhing over original costumes held in glass cases, old grainy videos of early hero fights, even a photo of the first ever hero billboard ranking announcement.
When he began mumbling, eyes glazing over, Bakugou reached into his bag and handed over a fresh new notebook and pen. Midoriya almost cried when he saw – not just for the gesture itself, but the damn smile as he handed them over. Bakugou was being so sweet, so soft, it was a better date than he ever could have imagined in a thousand years.
They saw every piece of the exhibit twice – a quick round before lunch, to get through everything, and a longer, more in-depth look after they ate at the museum cafe. They spent the second round having debates and discussions about the content, Bakugou's hand resting lightly on the small of Midoriya's back so his hands could be free to take notes. It was so oddly comfortable, and Midoriya found himself wondering why they hadn't been doing it for years – and more importantly, why it felt like they had been.
“Just let me hit the bathroom before we take off,” Bakugou requested, when they began to wrap up their visit. “I'll buy you dinner on the way home”
“You already bought me lunch!” Midoriya pouted. “It's my turn!”
“Nuh-uh, I told you I was gonna blow all your other damn dates out of the water, and I'm standing by it.”
“But Kacchan, you already have!”
Bakugou burned red, his cheeks almost as bright as his eyes, and Midoriya beamed at him as he linked their arms.
“I need to use the bathroom too,” he said finally. “We'll argue about paying for dinner when we get there.”
With their arms still joined, Midoriya holding himself close, they trekked down the stairs to find the bathroom. It was empty and quiet, probably something to do with half the attendees having already gone home, and as Midoriya finished relieving himself he found his eyes wandering to where Bakugou was finishing off.
“Kacchan?”
“I'm pissing, Deku,” he pointed out. “Can it wait ten seconds?”
Midoriya smirked as he took a step closer, his chest pressing into Bakugou's back, and slipped a hand up the nice blue button-up, ironed and tucked in just for him. Bakugou froze, and Midoriya giggled, leading him gently to one of the shining-clean stalls.
“What are you doing?” he asked gruffly, the tips of his ears turning pink when Midoriya reached past him to lock the door. “Deku?”
Midoriya dropped to his knees, and when Bakugou turned he was met with wide eyes staring up at him in awe – except for once, it wasn't his face or his quirk the nerd was drooling over. He leaned in, and Bakugou blushed, laying a hand on green curls.
“Hold on,” he insisted, watching Midoriya's eyes dart up nervously. “What are you doing?”
“You don't want me to?”
“D-Damn Deku, like I'd say no,” Bakugou grumbled, looking away. “But uh... You want to?”
Midoriya nodded, grinning as he leaned in again and rested his check on a warm thigh.
“I want to thank you properly, Kacchan,” he explained, with the utmost sincerity. “I want Kacchan to know how perfect our first date was!”
“You don't think I know how awesome I am?” Bakugou snorted. “Of course I'm gonna plan the perfect date.”
“And Kacchan deserves a reward! Oh, wait.”
He reached for the toilet paper, and Bakugou almost laughed at him as he swiped at his tip, making sure there was nothing left behind from a minute prior. He tossed it in the toilet behind him, then replaced it with his tongue, making Bakugou hiss as he licked teasingly.
“Is it okay, Kacchan?”
“Fuuuuuck. Yeah, obviously.”
“Okay!”
He opened his mouth wide, wrapping his lips around Bakugou's head and swiping his tongue over the slit again. Bakugou immediately fell back to lean on the stall door, his thighs trembling wth the effort of holding himself up as Midoriya sucked and licked.
With an amused hum, Midoriya shifted one arm around behind, ready to grab him if his legs gave out. Part of him hated the gesture, hated how sappy and thoughtful it was, but the vast majority of his brain just wanted to feel that hot, wet mouth continue its course. He put his pride aside for maybe the first time in his life, letting his head fall back against the door as a long moan wracked his body.
Midoriya had never heard a sound as sweet as that first moan, and he was determined to hear it again, determined to drag it out over and over even if it was the last thing he did.
It could well be, he mused, if Bakugou was embarrassed enough to murder him for hearing it.
He could already feel precum trickling down his throat, but he did his best to ignore it as he teased the underside of Bakugou's cock with his tongue, sinking a little deeper. Long fingers tangled in his hair, and a weird part of him wanted to smile when Bakugou's hips bucked a little, thrusting himself deeper.
Red eyes peered down at him, and Midoriya hummed long and low, closing his eyes as he savoured the way Bakugou filled his mouth so sweetly.
Another little test, a tiny thrust of his hips, and Midoriya slid off, one hand wrapped around the base to keep it ready for him to sink back down.
“It's okay,” he smiled. “Do what feels good, Kacchan!”
Bakugou blushed again, eyes darting away, and Midoriya opened his mouth wide. He licked at the tip, flicked at the throbbing veins with his tongue, and slowly, tentatively, Bakugou pulled.
Midoriya went with him, breathing long and deep through his nose as Bakugou dragged him down to the hilt. He gagged a little when it hit the back of his throat, and Bakugou loosened his grip, but Midoriya refused to give up – if anything, his pants felt a little tighter.
His concern assuaged, Bakugou tightened his grip again, guiding Midoriya up and down his thick cock as his tongue darted back and forth, feeling the dick throb between his lips, wondering what exactly he would need to do to make Bakugou cum – preferably, harder than he ever had before.
Bakugou grew a little bolder, with Midoriya letting him lead. His thrusts grew more confident, his hand more demanding, until, with a strange new twitch, the fluid started to come.
He held Midoriya in close, his deep voice growling “swallow”, and Midoriya moaned. He obeyed, doing his best to keep it all in his mouth, trailing down his throat, but he also felt his underwear growing damp between his legs, and hoped it wouldn't seep through.
Bakugou let him go, falling back against the door heavily, and Midoriya squeaked as he wiped his lips.
“K-Kacchan?”
“Huh? Oh, my turn?”
“N-No, I, um...”
He ducked his gaze, oddly ashamed of himself, and a tired little smirk passed over Bakugou's lips.
“You cream your little panties for me, Deku?”
“Kacchaaaan,” he whined, turning around and reaching for the toilet paper again. “Don't say things like that.”
“But you did, didn't you?”
“M-Maybe.”
He dropped his pants, cleaning himself up as best he could with the toilet paper roll, and pulling a face before he finally just tore his boxers off completely.
Bakugou snatched them from his hand, chuckling at how sodden the things were, and turned his leer back on Midoriya's pitiful face.
“You like that, huh?”
“I like making Kacchan feel good,” he mumbled, cheeks prettily pink. “I'm just gonna throw them away, it isn't worth it.”
“And walk back to the dorms with no underwear on?”
“Unless you have an alternative idea.”
“Nah, that's hot.”
Midoriya rolled his eyes, not deigning it with an answer as he hiked his pants up and zipped them with more care than ever before. He was concerned that everything would be on display, with how weirdly exposed he felt, but then Bakugou was planting a little kiss on his cheek.
“Can't tell at all,” he assured him. “Is this how your last date ended too?”
“No, this is just for Kacchan.”
“Keep it that way, nerd.”
He discarded the underwear in the wastebin, and they quickly cleaned themselves up at the basins, doing their best to look like they hadn't both just orgasmed in a public bathroom. Midoriya was pretty sure they'd failed.
─────
The common room was uncomfortably full when they returned to the dorms, Bakugou's arm wound possessively around Midoriya's waist, a faint little smile on Midoriya's lips as he leaned into his side. They only parted to push through the doors, but by then half the class had already seen their snuggles.
“Have fun?” Uraraka prompted.
“Uh-huh! The exhibit was amazing!” Midoriya beamed. “There was so much old footage that I've never seen before! And All Might's first hero costume, from back when he was at school here! It was still perfectly intact, too! He just outgrew it and had to get a new one! Isn't that awesome?!”
“He took lots of notes,” Bakugou snorted, handing over the book from his bag. “And did a lot of mumbling.”
“I had a great time, Kacchan! Thank you so much for taking me!”
He rose to his tiptoes, planting the tiniest little peck on Bakugou's lips and watching him burn bright red. Even his neck and ears flushed, and Midoriya thought it might be the cutest thing he'd ever seen.
“Again?” he asked quietly.
“Yeah,” Bakugou nodded. “Whenever you want.”
“You're the best, Kacchan.”
As he moved to excuse himself, to go change his clothes and put some clean underwear on, he bumped into Todoroki in the doorway.
“Oh, Midoriya,” he blinked at him, surprised. “I didn't know you were back. I was gonna ask if you wanted to come get dinner with me after school tomorrow?”
Bakugou growled under his breath, and Midoriya smiled faintly his he ummed and ahhed.
“Don't you fuckin' dare,” Bakugou hissed, more to himself than to Midoriya.
“I'm sorry, I have plans with someone else tomorrow,” he said sweetly. “Maybe another time?”
“Sure.”
Todoroki continued his path to the kitchen, and Midoriya glanced back with a teasing smile as Bakugou marched toward him.
“Another time my ass,” he growled.
“Oh Kacchan, don't threaten me with a good time.”
With an innocent smile, he excused himself from the group, a little surprised when Bakugou followed him stubbornly into the elevator.
“Everything okay, Kacchan?”
“Your ass,” he smirked, watching Midoriya blush as he leaned in close. “Sound like a good time?”
Midoriya nodded, swallowing hard, and Bakugou pulled him into a much deeper kiss as they rose up through the floors.
“Be careful, Kacchan,” he smiled softly. “Anyone would think you were jealous.”
