Mostly just wanted to capture the roiling chaos of primeval, antediluvian seas with an image that is literally set during the flood that marked the end of the mythical biblical antediluvian period
Also, I will probably end up posting multiple reference images multiple times, because each panel draws from SO MANY sources, oftentimes multiple panels will pull from a single image. Original illustrations largely by Martin, Cuvier, Manetll, and De La Beche.
