There is an interesting parallel between Salvos and demonkind in general and the Centinels. I think the Devil's challenge for Salvos is to prove she is something more than just the last one standing in the kodoku jar which is basically what these Evolved Centinels and most highly evolved demons are. The Devil seeks to have Salvos prove she can transcend her demonic origins to become something more than just the top bug in the curse jar.

2021-12-02 11:37:33 +0000 UTCHmm Salvos could have used her [Planar Navigation] skill to better find that Evolved Centinel, I don't think he was hiding from space itself. Space magic does seem a good counter to assassins if you have something like [Planar Navigation] of course. I guess the Director of Mavos's Academy is the son or grandson of the sister of the guy that wrote the journal huh.
