LiveOverflow's Marketing Department
Added 2020-06-26 12:19:45 +0000 UTCHey! Several of you have already seen the LiveOverflow marketing department but I wanted to share it clearly for everybody again.
If you have a Discord account connected to Patreon, you should be automagically get added to the "LiveOverflow's Marketing Department" Discord server. If you have issues, ping me on Twitter or Mail or so.
I have said multiple times that I don't want to have a Discord server, and I still don't want one (mostly because of the additional administrative headache)...
... but I promised to share behind the scenes and occasional bonus stuff on Patreon and YT Membership. The problem is, it's really annoying to "interact" with people directly on those platforms. I think it's easier to simply throw stuff into a discord channel, than to make a "post" on Patreon/YT. So that's the main purpose of this: Easier to share stuff. And more of it.
The second reason is, that I crave increasingly more feedback. There are things that are on my mind, but I have nowhere to share or talk about those things. And making a public discord for that purpose will be too big and too much noise. So I somehow want a small group to just throw ideas around and this could be it. I also don't want to advertise this discord as a Patreon/yt reward. It's not intended to increase earnings, it's just like a "secret" thing that exists for people who have been supporting. And I want to keep it small. So let's see how this works out.
Edit: If it's not working for you despite connected Discord, it's very likely that you have no tier selected on Patreon and you did a "custom pledge". Try to change the tier to eg. the 1$ tier and you can still do another custom amount. Then the Patreon bot should add you to Discord.
