October '19 WIP - Metal Legion

October has been... hectic, for the lack of a better word. I have quite some catch-up to play after Kupocon, especially since I not only have to pick up my work but also the load of a colleague who decided to screw me over and just disappear/ghost me without turning his work in (isn't that always fun...). I have quite a few NDA things I'm looking forward to sharing with you guys.

Alassa did manage to drag me off to a nice little Guild Wars run though, and I dragged her to the new meta which is... a metal concert. As in a giant meta event where you complete various mini-quests like charging the amps with runaway spark elementals, catching the leaping performers, picking up for injured backup dancers and fighting a giant pyrotechnics display that went accidentally rampant... I honestly expected to kinda hate that when it first appeared in the trailers, but burn me, that thing is actually fun.

Lass ended up loving it, too, so we decided to put together something I've been itching to do for a while - a proper collab. Between her Sylvari!Prompto and my Blood legion engineer/archaeologist, that was a match made in whatever Tyria has for Hell. I got tasked with coming up with the basic sketch for composition, and I'll keep you posted with how that goes.

And since that's a damn low October bar, I'll throw in a warm-up (... hehe) sketch I did. Lets say... taking a shut-in archaeologist who spent most of her past few years digging alone in a desert to an all-legion rally/party/boozerun had... uh... lets call it Flame-legion-related consequences.

I really like what they're doing with Flame legion in this past update. The whole redemption arc is working pretty well so far and they have some really good characters to follow. Shaman Brightblaze being just one of them. There's definitely some more fiery charr doodles incoming.
