As I mentioned in the WIP report (as well as to anyone within listening distance), latest GW patch added a surprise favorite for me, which is multiple Flame Legion characters. I didn't actually think I'd be fond of any, since they were the stock bad guy legion of the vanilla game, but this whole "You know, we lost the war 200 years ago, we're damn tired of fighting, just... stop punching us in the face and stop panicking whenever we cast a firespell" angle is really well done in the update (if a bit abrupt turn sometimes).
One of such surprise favorites is Efram Greetsglory, a new Flame Legion "imperator" (by the virtue of being the one who did something when people said "someone should negotiate peace treaty", so he's suddenly in charge). I love that they semi-used the unique model for the previous Flame imperator, Gaheron Baelfire, subtly hinting he'd be the usual zealot ass, but then you find a decent guy who just wants to make sure his daughter and other kids have a future that doesn't suck.
I just wish I didn't borisvallejo the hell outta this... It's one of those "yeah, that could use a makeover" pieces where I really like the initial sketch...
... and the final result ends up having piddle-all to do with it. I wanted to practice light and color, I ended up screwing both. BUT I made myself some new brushes, and some 3 hours-worth of sketching is not that much of a loss/worth a makeover so... I guess he'll stay this way. May as well share it and just go and try again.
