January 2020 Wrap-Up

Welcome to the first monthly Wrap-Up. I'd like to use this series to talk a little bit more personal but also get in touch with you.

First of all, thank you so much for becoming a patron. To be honest, I didn't really know how this would be going and whether people would actually interested in such a thing. But seeing so many of you here already is really great and I'm really grateful to see that so many of you even joined the higher tiers. I wouldn't have expected for this to go so well after only roughly three weeks.

I also have to admit that I feel honoured to see a few seasoned colleagues here whose work I really admire. So thanks guys, you know who you are ;)

What I like about Patreon is that it creates a "safe space" and that we can discuss and talk about all the things way better here than in "the open internet". It's great to see that some of you already used the chance to discuss and ask questions as well as telling about their own personal experiences on topics. I really feel this creates a great environment! So don't hesitate to ask, comment and discuss.

But it's also absolutely fine with me if you prefer to stay in the background and just read along. Just be assured that whatever amount of participation you want to take is fine.

In the tier description I wrote that everybody in the $5 or higher tiers will get a question about music/career etc. answered each month. This month I'd like to extend this to all patrons as a thank you for joining. So if you have any specific question that you'd like me to try and answer, feel free to ask them in the comments below or send me a private message. I'll do my very best to answer them as good as I can :)

Lastly, this first month I simply wrote articles and posts about what I thought would be interesting for you guys. I tried to find a balance between rather short and on-the-point
posts that one could read during breakfast (or whatever) and more complex and in-depth stuff that one needs a bit of time to dive into. However, this was just what I PRESUMED would be helpful for you.

So now it's your turn. Please let me know what you like, what you find annoying, what you'd like to see and read more of, what you could live without and I'll try and see if I can adjust the content accordingly.

Also, please share the word with your friends who might be interested in this content. The more people join, the more time I can dedicate to write content.

PS: I'm currently looking into setting up exclusive Live-Streams/Video Walkthroughs on Composition/Orchestration (but don't expect "How to write an Epic Track in 10 Minutes with Library X") but I still need to find time to figure out the technicalities behind that as well as getting a proper microphone so bear with me on this...

Thanks again for being here!

Robin
