A quick word on Patreon payment cycles
Added 2020-04-02 14:46:21 +0000 UTCAs there have been some misunderstandings in the past, I'd like to clear up a few things here. I've set up my Patreon to always charge my patrons on the 1st of each month. So if you join on April 2nd, your first charge will be on May 1st. I've chosen this payment modality over paying right when you join and the again on the next 1st of Month to not give a disadvantage for people who join quite late in the month to be charged twice in a very short time.
Unfortunately I can't set up Patreon in the way that it charges everybody on their recurring join day each month.
Now I know that the stream of income is inconsistent for many people who work in this field and I'm totally fine if you delete your pledge, or rejoin later, or edit your pledge according to your current financial situation. No questions will be asked on that!
However, it is theoretically possible to cheat the system by leaving on the 30th and rejoining on the 2nd or something like this.
If you join my Patreon and don't want to commit to a monthly payment but just want to check out some stuff for a while, that is perfectly fine! However I would ask you to wait until after the next payment cycle before you delete your pledge for fairness sake.
