Necromancers are able to communicate with the dead as well as bring them back to life and/or use them as weapons. In Chapter 2 page 69, a Zauphar skull was found and was manipulated in to talking so not only could the necromancer gain know;edge of peoples' names, but the tunnel, graveyard, and other important details he otherwise wouldn't have known. As a aide note, he's been body hopping and resurrecting the people he's killed and may have gained the knowledge that way as well.
