The story of your mum and the goat reminded me of one of my favorite stories from childhood. My nan is Irish, but has lived in England as long as my dad has been alive. But she's just... unbelievably Irish 😂 we lived with her in England when I was in grade 5 and my auntie took us on a trip to a farm. My sister and I were "city kids" having come from southern California so had 0 experience with farm animals. My sister tried to go pet a rooster and he got PISSED and started chasing her. She ran off screaming and my nan ran off after them just cursing a blue streak and "calling the saints" as you put it 😂😂😂 I had never heard her curse before let alone something that seemed borderline blasphemous (for her, we weren't catholic obvs.)

Oh, my goodness! I took riding lessons when I was about 12 and one of my favorite horses, Buddy, was the same way!... he was a lovely, sweet sorrel quarterhorse, but MAN was he gassy!... 😅

It was nice to hear from you. You sound well despite your trials an tribulations low these last months. Behold the power of a positive attitude. 😉 You are such the storyteller, about 14 min in you were all so that's all, but then... I think it's cute how you usually do that a couple of times. I always find your stories enjoyable, and this was no exception. Your Mam sounds like my kind of lady. I love me an old, funny, broad that doesn't care what others think. I aspire to that when I'm old. 😄 Here's a story to pay ya back: I was fairly young probably around 5-6. It was a sunny lovely day in Mariposa. My Gramps put a leader on his Appaloosian horse Windy so I could ride her bareback as he lead her in a circle. He put my tiny, blonde haired, nothing but lips and eyes self on her back. I got settled in, weaved my fingers through her mane, and gave her a kick and a cluck to get her started. I had been on a horse before, but never by myself and never bareback. It was all good until I went from a trot to a walk. It was at that point I learned the reason for her name. Everytime I bounced back down in the trot, Windy tooted. The longer it went on, the funnier it got. I started giggling, then I started really laughing, then tears of laughter. Still remember everything about that day, smells, sounds, the light slanting through the trees, etc. 😊

All that's been goin' on the last few weeks/months with the YouTube crap, now tryin' to get stuff together to go support yer family, and surviving random allergic reactions (hope you got rid of that cologne and have hired someone to finish the painting, by the way!!), and you still take the time to keep us posted and share your love and light and insatiable positivity!... if you were anymore wonderfully thoughtful, I don't think we could handle it! 😍... Speaking of the allergies... seeing as how you mentioned nothing like this has ever happened before, I'm curious... Was it a new cologne or shaving cream (if that's what you use) that you'd never used before? Perhaps one has an ingredient that you hadn't introduced your face to yet or a combination of the two? As for the paint, were you using brushes/rollers or a spray gun? If using a spray gun, perhaps using brushes/rollers would minimize the risk of a reaction... and like the cologne, was it some kind of new/fancy paint with extra ingredients to make it dry faster or last longer or prevent mold or something?... Is it possible that during the construction phase, something was disturbed or exposed (like mold or fungus or what not) that could have caused the reaction instead of the paint? I'm just curious because it is quite unusual for someone to just suddenly develope an allergy to something... either it's something you were always allergic to and were just now exposed to or something that has slowly developed over time, though that's still a little unusual... my mom, for example, is now allergic to iodine after years of ingesting contrast dye for regular CT scans that she had to have... I just don't want this to happen to you again, especially since each exposure could be exponentially worse than the previous one... if you knew what triggered it, you could maybe avoid it!! 😁 Anyway, love and luck to ya, sweetcheeks 😋... don't forget to take a moment for yourself, too!... all this rushin' around and pushin' yourself could also have an effect on your immune system and leave you open to all kinds of nasty stuff... *BIIIIG hugs* 🤗

Ok now that I have a minute, this ramble was everything you'd talk to a friend about. Family, work, funny stories, it's why I so look forward to rambles from you. I am sorry about your aunt but I'm happy your cousins have such a large loving family to help them through this. I feel your allergy issues on like a spiritual level. Although I've never had a reaction that made me look like Brad Pitt and Hellboy I often walk around during the summer looking very sad as my eyes are red and watering and I sniffle constantly! The goat story, I was laughing so hard! I was trying to get my makeup on and had to redo my eyeliner 😂 Keep your head up G!

Cancer in and of itself is an awful beast, but pancreatic cancer is one of the shittiest kinds 🙁 It’s all the more tragic when it takes someone at such a young age. I think single parents are some of the unsung heroes and heroines in society, so your aunt must’ve been an incredibly brave and strong woman to have fought cancer while caring for 4 children.<br><br>It’s good to hear that your whole family has rallied around to support one another. It makes a world of difference (in a positive way, of course), even if it can sometimes be hard to feel that way when one is reeling from the loss of their loved one. And I’m glad that your mom was able to remember the brighter side of life in the midst of her grief 🙂<br><br>My condolences and all the best to you and your family, G. The strange thing I’ve noticed about a lot of your “typically Irish” stories that would understandably garner an “only in Ireland” reaction, is that they can be SO similar to so many stories my friends and I have from our own experiences! Idk I think your country is another one of those “Is this even a real country” kinda places because that’s Australia too lol Like I’m listening to your goat experiences and remembering my friend and I being hunted down by a large clan of kangaroos when we were staying in a homestead on an island... they were literally staking us out and rounding us up! We had a stand off on the air strip at sundown 😂 And the guy I’m seeing just shared with me yesterday his story about being chased for aaages by a wild boar 😳 apparently those fellas don’t give up until you are totally out of sight! Also, emus are sometimes kept as pets on farms, and I watched a cousin be chased by an overly excited emu once upon a time, which is a vivid memory that has never left me. And never will. If you ever witness footage of an emu flailing excitedly and then you’ll understand why haha! But you’ve also gotta respect the emus otherwise they’ll *wage war against us Again 😶 (*literally happened) Anyway! Sorry for the long rant but what I’m saying is, your motherland sounds as ridiculous as mine and it brings great joy 😆 Hope you have a whole bunch of laughs during your trip to England, all the very best again for your family!

Just know that your big heart is helping others, always.❤ The story with your mom and young you evading the goat was hilarious, and the way you told the string of goat stories was so colorful! They were all interwoven perfectly, and then you brought it all back to the present. I could picture it all! Well if shaving is going to bring on allergic reactions, you will just have to keep the scruff. Also how do you manage to be allergic to paint? The story with the goat on the stag do was hilarious! What is it with Irishmen putting random animals in cars? My friend's bro-in-law accidentally hit a deer with his car, it was stunned rather than injured, so he bundled it into his car while he figured out what to do with it and left it there overnight (because just leaving it be was too sensible). The next morning, the panicked deer had crapped all over the inside of his car, and wasn't best pleased at being locked up all night 😂

Listening to these stories about your mum makes me realize just how much the Irish blood runs true in my own mother... From the creative cursing to the lightning fast cognitive changes, even down to snickering in church. hehe
