【官方公告】在囚手足的美國選舉讀物清單
Added 2021-04-29 02:50:08 +0000 UTC有在囚手足是這裏Patreon讀者，希望我提供一份研究美國選舉的書單。雖然並不直接認識他，但他依然不忘托人傳話來建議「改善video聲音質素」。非常唏噓。
這裏臥虎藏龍，大家有沒有建議讀物？中英文不拘。
他已經讀過有關內容的一切basic knowledge，現在希望有比較進階的讀物：
- 例如介紹不同州的選舉方法及近年改革
- 例如談及Georgia修例排隊投票期間不能提供飲食
- 例如對持有ID 投票的收緊規管方式
- 例如不同州法院對選舉的不同規範......
- 此外，他也希望研究新保守主義對美國當下主流政黨（無論是共和黨還是拜登政府）還有沒有影響力
我正在大學參考書當中找一些最相關的。大家要是有合適的讀物，我會一併買一套送進去，相信他回來後，就是這方面的專家了。謝謝。

2021-04-29 05:25:59 +0000 UTCI remember reading A Voting Rights Odyssey: Black Enfranchisement in Georgia. The book was written in 2003 but it has a lot of history/cases. Laughlin McDonald was the ACLU president in Altanta for a really long time - so this is written from the POV that the Black has always been suppressed and the Black faced a lot of barriers (just like other states) but the Black in GA faced even more systematic barriers than others. Helping America Vote: The Limits of Election Reform is a good read but the focus was the mess from our 2000 election though - which result in this "Help America Vote Act of 2002". Would "Governing States and Localities" by Kevin B. Smith & Alan Greenblatt too much like a textbook? Local Elections and the Politics of Small-Scale Democracy by J. Eric Oliver is a good read about the local and state politics in America too (but it could be quite dry/feels like reading a textbook too). And I'm sure others have other reading lists to share as well! But I only know the ones in English :(
