Biodh la maith agat: Have a nice day
ta me i ngra leat: I am in love with you

Sucking diesel: Very busy
I will ya: no
Go to the dogs: Go to shit 😧
Head the ball: Zany person
Massive: Tasty/ good looking
Be wide: Be aware
Coola boola: It's alright! No problem!

Im listening to this and cant help but draw parallels between the irish slang and what i hear here in California. Like we dont say "grand", but we say we're "fantastic" and it has the same sort of meaning to it. Coola boola is not a thing, but some people (those of us who know we aren't cool and are totally fine with it) say "cool beans"

Gael, is it true that all Gaelic teachers at school are grumpy old ladies?

"I'm grand" in the south of U.S. would translate to "I'm peachy". Can be both good and bad lol

Coola boola, Sucking diesel, and
M A S S I V E 😎 are my FaVoRiTeS!
I think coola boola takes the cake though, because I try to stay positive as much as I can, and keep moving forward regardless of what other people do or don't do... Coola Boola 💚
And on that note, let me get started
sucking diesel.
Slán 😊🍀

Thank you 🦉😘

I love these, my problem is I had a bad stutter as a kid (and the usual pronouncing L like W so sounded like porky pig and elmer fudd), and my speech therapist taught me to slow down and sound things out phonetically, but that doesn't quite work for languages like gaelic, but I still love hearing it

It's been a minute since we had an Irish lesson. I love these. 💚💚
And yeah, if you said someone was massive in the US......you'd either get flipped off, told to fuck off or make someone cry for hurting their feelings. Not good!! 😲😛😂😂😉

Maidin mhaith, mo stór! Thank you so much! Tá mo chroí istigh ionat is probably my most favorite phrase in Irish because the literal meaning is so deep and romantic.

Dia duit . Now I know next time I go to Ireland when someone says 'I will ya' it's a resounding no. Love another Irish lesson, maybe with some Irish curses and swear words. Found some good ones, but not sure about pronunciation

Tar éis an taifeadadh seo (agus é ar fheabhas!), ba maith liom mo léine "Cork slang" a chaitheamh! Tá na habairtí "I will, yeah" agus "Sure, it'll be grand" air.
What a delightful mini-ramble! It made me do a happy hibernophile wiggle. GRMA! ❤☘❤

A question - In some audios you say "Mo stór" (not sure if I've spelt it properly) and here you mention "Mo stóirín".
Google translator, for the first, gives me "My dear" and for the second "My darling"
Is it correct? Are there multiple meanings to the same phrase?
Also, I must add that when I typed "Mo stór", it asked me if I wanted to search for "Motor". Such are the woes of using an automated translator :D :P
