Apple has a hardware backdoor baked into the silicon in it's chips, going back 5 years. It was a perfect backdoor, but ended up compromised. It's in a memory space that's basically impossible to find, hash protected. Even if you knew it existed, and knew the address, you still need the security hash. Perfect hardware backdoor. Tellingly, once revealed, Apple's "fix" was an update that simply removed the memory pointers, which had zero affect on any other functionality - meaning there was no reason for the existence other than perfect surveillance.
