Episode 160 - Why isn't antitrust working against the big tech?

2023-11-15 16:08:21 +0000 UTCI get your sentiment, there is definitely the issue of out-of-touch politicians trying to legislate things they don't understand. But current FTC chairwoman was born in 1989, whereas the EU equivalent for antitrust investigations was born in 1968. So I don't think it all falls down to age. I think it's mainly that the US just doesn't care about monopolies.

2023-11-15 12:33:47 +0000 UTCI learned a lot from this episode like the EU fines. I'm shocked they weren't able to appeal it. But TBH I'm the US I think halons Razor applies to the lack of regulation. Most regulators are old and don't understand much about big tech or it's impact. And few that do could easily be bought out. Also I think America's culture makes it alot harder to reign in big companies.
