New Character: Charity

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, Ty and I have decided that a Turkey character was LONG overdue to the New Cyana Islands! Charity's design has been a collaborative effort between myself an Ty to try and find a way to represent a more visually striking female turkey than the grey/tan variety that nature has currently provided to us as a reference, while still making it obvious that she is in fact a turkey.

In nature, Female Pheasants, Peacocks and Turkeys all tend to look very similar since it's the male of the species who struts around with the epic feathers when it comes time to selecting a mate. The female decides which suitor has the most pimpin' plumage while maintaining a rather nuetral, earth tone pattern which also provides better camouflage for the female.The being said, since Charity is an Anthropomorphic character in a universe populated by furry characters that have evolved far past the need to judge a potential partner based solely on feather quality, I don't think for one second that any female avian would be willing to settle for a drab grey on brown coat of feathers, if a vibrant color option was available. I would expect feather dyes, down feather toners and highlights, and different styles of trims to feathers, as well as all other manner of accessories to exist in this world. It just makes sense from a world building point of view, especially since they already have flat screen TVs, Designer Jeans, and Smart Phones.
