2019年轟動一時的「831事件」至今已經五週年，從事藝術工作的 Jim 是政治素人，當日在太子站被「新香港」警察毆打、一度傳出頻死，然後卻被港府控告「暴動」罪等多條罪行，自此流亡英國，面對全新的生活。回望過去，他對走出來絕不後悔，會堅持對海外朋友親身分享831的真相，以免政權改寫歷史；但同時他也經常提醒自己，不要在這個陰影走不出去，必須過正常生活、做正常工作，否則就正中這個政權下懷。他在2019年看見不少人性光輝一面，之後也難免看到很多分化、爭論和放負，然而他明白到兩者加在一起，善惡並存，才是立體的人性。避免過份浪漫化和犬儒化，像捷克哈維爾所言「活在真實中」，才能堅定地走下去，這也是他在這個訪問給同路人最重要的訊號。
