【國際政治經濟典籍導讀課程・蕭少滔 001A】 2024年諾貝爾經濟學獎得主舊作《國家為甚麼失敗？》導讀
Added 2024-11-28 03:01:01 +0000 UTC不少網友希望蕭少滔先生可以定期開辦課程，因此我們討論良久之後，更新了課程方案：在「堅離地州」這個tier（USD40），會每週和 Alex 導讀一本國際政治經濟學（IPE）的經典作品，然後我們會將內容整理擴充，再結集出版，有興趣的會員也可以建議討論的典籍。為了照顧公眾，課程會分為兩部份，導讀部份會在 YouTube 公海分享，其餘部份就是這個 tier 的會員專享。
第一集我們會介紹2024年諾貝爾經濟學獎得主 Daron Acemoglu 和 James Robinson 2012年出版的舊作《國家為甚麼失敗？》，內裏詳細講述了「榨取式」和「外向式」政體的差異，對中國這類國家有重要參考價值，也因而引起大量爭議。

2024-11-28 16:40:39 +0000 UTCThis is a very big, important and interesting topic and admittedly it will still be some years before I may have a better understanding of what the full answer looks like. I have benefited a lot from Mr Shiu’s insights (when he speaks, I listen) and his book recommendations in the past (and continue to do so), however on this particular book, although I am not qualified to suggest what the answer looks like, it is less difficult to know what it isn’t — I think it is safe to say that the answer the authors proposed is too ambitious for something so complex that one can inevitably find counter examples that the theory cannot adequately explain. What is it good for?” by Ian Morris and “The Making of an Economic Superpower” by Yi Wen. One thing is certain is that finding the answer will be quite a journey and the answer will need constant revision.
