The World of Infinite Warfare Doesn't Work | Incoming

Infinite Warfare tells a story that's been told many times before and unfortunately makes a lot of weird decisions along the way.

Maybe the authors of this game were trying to base the Strategic Defense Front on the warrior culture of the Spartans. The Spartans took young boys from their mothers care and immersed them in a warrior culture that was designed to turn them in to hardened killers long before they even fought their first battle. This might explain why the SDF conscripted children at such a young age. Spartans served in the Spartan Army for the majority of their lives so by comparison a fifteen year long service requirement doesn't seem all that long to serve. My own father joined the service at the young age of 16 by lying about his age. I myself joined the military at the age of 17 right out of high school.

I actually agree. The way the depict the Martians as obvious bad guys feels like a let down and makes the story less interesting. To me, the cold war between Earth and Mars in the Expanse makes more sense since Mars has a large population of 1 billion people and went independent because they felt Earth was taking resources they need for their terraforming program. Also centuries of being on Mars has changed them that they feel they are their own people. I even didn't like they had FTL tech in Infinite Warfare. You can still have strong interplanetary civilization without faster-than-light technology.

To be fair, Call of Duty has always been kind of cartoonish.
