To answer your question at the end, the two locked routes are by far the most popular on both jp and en speaking fandom spaces for different reasons! Granted, this is usually the case for nt+c games. I have played all of their games throughout the years and SD's true ending is up there with,if not my favorite and best they have ever written for sure. I can't wait to see you experience it πππ©·

So glad to hear youβre planning on playing Slow Damage all the way through, itβs a VN that deserves it for how much it offers players, imho. To answer your question, this is a rare case for me where I donβt have a preferred route; each are so essential to understanding Towa, they are all always a part of my replays. Looking back in totality, the βtrueβ route was the most rewarding/emotionally gratifying for me, but it wasnβt specifically because of the love interest involved, and I donβt think it would have had the impact it did without the build up from the other routes. Itβs probably because Slow Damage is truly Towaβs story at its core, unlike a lot of other VNs where the love interestsβ stories hold more of the narrative weight. Which isnβt necessarily a bad thing, but Towa is such an enigmatic protagonist, Iβm glad he really gets to shine in this game. Itβs so good!
