Should the GTU Annex the Union of Nimerium? | Stellaris Invicta

Since the establishment of a pro-GTU puppet state in the Union of Nimerium, there has been a lingering question concerning its status in the long term. Some within the Greater Terran Union believe that a network of satellite states is an ideal solution to the “xenos problem”, removing them as threats to the GTU while keeping them separate from the human population.

Others believe that the Union of Nimerium should be directly integrated into the GTU. This will afford us greater control over their resources and potential, but will result in major alien populations within the demographics of the Greater Terran Union, potentially sparking riots and separatist groups.

This would have been easier with Space Communism

I am in favor of annexation myself, but in the end it is up to the citizens of the Nimurium. They have proven their loyalty through their material support to the Greater Terran Union. Let us reward that loyalty like we have so many times before with any loyal subject of our great union. Let them choose to join our cause in the way that they see fit. If they want to be absorbed into the union then fine, be absorbed. If they want to remain a free sovereign nation but align with our cause then fine, let them be free. Just never, ever, treat their loyalty with disrespect. We have an image to foster throughout the galaxy, one that can assure the aliens that we will deal with them with fairness and honesty, just to friend and foe alike. -Marshall Dallas Reinhart, Canadian Commissariat.

What an honor to play a pivotal role for humanity. To make a bold statement on the galaxy we must make a vassal state from our foe. With time they'll become loyal, after that loyalty is earned well integrate then into our ranks. Thus bolstering our might and proving that we're a force that will conquer and destroy or aid and defend... after our human citizen's needs are met first. (OMG realized I got. Nearly 2k hours in Stellaris! XD... need a more busy life)

The strategy of vassalization is a strong, time tested tactic, and I believe it is our best course of action. Maintaining several buffer states as a bulwark against the forces of our enemies is highly effective. Look no further than the history of our glorious species. Empires throughout the eons practiced this stratagem and, admittedly with varying success, were able to accomplish total dominance within their respective regions of Terra. That being said, it is vital to maintain dominance over our vassals. We must eliminate even the very notion of defiance within their hearts and minds. We cannot allow for them to unite against us in any fashion, lest we appear vulnerable. Play them against one another, grant them benefits and allow them to prosper, but always under the shadow of our illustrious Union. Long live the High Marshall, and long live the Greater Terran Union!

And if separatist movements form we will be able to contain and suppress them ass we always did. Living under our great nation is not a right, it is a privilege.

We should annex them because, under GTU control, the resources by them generated will be better managed and efficiency is the most important valor for us in this time of preparing for the Great Reparation War

Guilherme Barreiros

Annex them so that their resources and people may better be put towards our goals.

There already vassals

Vassalize them, but don’t forget to change the policy on the Polenians.

We need not fear the xeno, but we must ensure their loyalty to the Union before integrating them into our society - even at the lowest tiers. As a vassal, the Union of Nimerium will be under our authority until their loyalty can be proven in the coming days.

Hmm if we stop the deportation of polanians then annexing them is fine but if not then they should stay a vassal.
