Stellaris Invicta Season II | And The Winner Is...

Attention Institute Personnel!

It is my pleasure to announce that with 56% of the vote, the Confederate Republics of Antares have been selected as the focus of Stellaris Invicta Season 2. While the Confederacy took an early lead in the polls and held it, it has been so deeply rewarding to see the support and discussion behind all five of our possible choices. One thousand fifteen Templin Institute Patrons voted this year, with more ballots cast for Antares than every nation of Season 1 combined. Clearly the enthusiasm behind this project is only getting stronger. And your influence over this project is just getting started! In the next few weeks our Patrons will have the opportunity to cast their vote in a flag referendum for the Antares Confederacy! I am so excited to see where this story takes us, and I know you all are too.

However! While the polls are now closed, the work is just beginning. There is plenty left to do before we can officially launch Season 2, not the least of which is combing through all the alien empires entered for a chance to appear alongside the Confederacy. If you haven’t already, submit your Empire here, there remain a few slots left! But that’s hardly the only thing we’ll be working on over the next few weeks.

I have never been content to merely repeat the formula of Season 1. Immediately following the Epilogue of the Greater Terran Union, work began on how to make Season 2 even better. We provided a few details on how we hope to achieve this during our recent announcement video, but there’s so much more yet to be revealed. In the past few months, some amazing progress has been made on ideas that will expand the universe of Stellaris Invicta, in what I believe are some truly unique and unexpected ways. But, we still have a ways to go.

I’ll have much more to say on this as we get closer to the launch of Season 2, but for now, allow me to leave you with this brief teaser. After red sands and the French countryside, will arise something new.

But despite how alluring that probably is, I know the real mystery on everyone’s mind is “when will Season 2 start?” And the answer is the ever-frustrating “when it’s ready”. While we do have a rough timetable in place, I can’t imagine anything worse than providing a date, only to miss it. What I will say is that between the closing of the polls and the premiere of the first episode of Season 1, was about two months. I hope to launch Season 2 within a similar amount of time. Until then, if you haven’t already, head on over to our Discord server! The discussion and speculation there has already started, so now is a perfect time to join in.

With Season 1, we had no idea that the Greater Terran Union would create such fierce amounts of passion and enthusiasm in our community. With Season 2, our mission is to ensure that the Antares Confederacy lives up to the example of its predecessor. With your continued support, we can make that happen.

They’ll be much more to say soon, but until then, I ask that all Institute Personnel, and every Citizen of the Greater Terran Union, join me in declaring “Onward, Upward, Forward, Antares!”

I hope Antares has a bit of explorer/frontier spirit since it's a lone colony/colonies separated from Earth.

Yes! I was hoping for this outcome!

The Veritus-Timens Protectorate surrenders unconditionally to any and all demands, please don't hurt us, we don't wanna die T_T >Could snap a human if half if they sneezed too hard

Will the runners-up be made available as playable mods?

Suggestion concerning season 2... I've notices that, for those who do not follow the live stream, the interaction between the political empire can become quite confusing (Which is why I'm currently rewatching the whole archived stream of the GTU play).... The easiest solution to this would be to take snapshots of the galaxy (In whole or in part) once every 10 years... or AT LEAST, one snapshot at the start and conclusion of every Stellaris Invicta game and make those print screen available on patreon... this way, they could either included into the series' episode or to be used by the patron for the creation of supplementary work for the institute.

May I ask how you are planning on reconciling the various technical problems Stellaris has in it's current state with your plans for Season 2? IIRC the GTU was played well past the regular endgame date, which was still feasible in Stellaris 2.1, but post 2.2 it just isn't. Not with the amount of AI empires you want in the game, and I think (correct me if I'm wrong) it was already said that the game wasn't going to be modded aside from small cosmetic stuff like custom banners like the GTU had. I really want Stellaris Invicta Season 2 to be as amazing as Season 1 was, but I just can't see it happening if the game is going to slow to a crawl well before 2450 (which is the earliest point at which a crisis can appear) and the AI is completely incapable of managing it's planets effectively (notably, lacking the ability to resettle population) post 2.2, so it won't put up much of a fight after a certain point. And it loves to declare wars and just not fight them for decades, which will severely limit diplomatic options since everything from vassalization to Federations requires both parties to not be involved in any armed conflicts.

It wasn't even a battle anymore as the Antares won by a landslide. If my civilization were to be chosen. I would like it to be an antagonist and bitter rivals for the sake of hate for no reason from Antares. Anyways, excitement fills me as the Antares reclaim holy Terra.

And so the human nation rises as a scion of it's birth world, borne on a crusade to reclaim said world from whatever vile forces hold it in their iron grip. May the Holy Empire of Dracul aid the Confederacy in this endeavour should my nation be included! Such tenacity and determination is worthy of my people's respect, and must needs be well rewarded. Should we meets as enemies, though....... best not to think on that. To Season 2 of Stellaris Invicta!! TERRA AETERNUM!!! LIBERO TERRA!!! DRACUL CASALIS!!!

In the name of Antares, forward!
