Swann – Chapter 14 Update

Chapter 14 is shaping up to be a long one—around 30,000 words, by my estimate. Nearly all of it is written, but editing will still take a bit more time to get it where it needs to be.
As often happens, the original working title, Hard Labor, had to be pushed to the next Kayla chapter. This one ended up focusing on the lead-up to those events, rather than the labor itself. That said, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
The new title will likely be A New Uniform—or something close to that.
In the following Chapter 15, we’ll return to Joe and Nat, with events unfolding in parallel to what's happening with Kayla on Eames’ farm. Expect some overlap through phone and video calls, giving everyone a glimpse into each other’s world. Eames' place is quite a distance from Joe’s trailer, after all.
All in all, I’m genuinely happy with how this chapter has turned out—and as you know, I don’t say that lightly. No one's a tougher critic of my work than myself. 🧐
