Wonder Woman Update – What’s Next

Hello everyone!

It’s been a while since I posted anything related to Wonder Woman, but rest assured—I haven’t forgotten about her. How could I? On the contrary, I’ve been quietly working behind the scenes to figure out the best way to move her story forward. This is just a brief update on where things currently stand.

My first attempt at Wonder Woman Domesticated didn’t quite land the way I hoped. The second version—a more thorough rewrite—was a step forward, but even that didn’t feel quite right. While the concept still excites me, the pacing was too slow, and the prose too uneven. I’ve also questioned whether the story started in the right place. On top of that, the character of Frank never really evolved into someone with narrative weight—he felt like a placeholder rather than a compelling foil for Diana.

Because of that, I’ve begun a new project: a 'prequel' volume set roughly ten years before the events of WWD. It will explore how Diana first met her future husband and how she ultimately arrived at the domesticated state we find her in at the start of Wonder Woman Domesticated. This book will serve as a deeper foundation for the series, allowing me to properly develop her descent and fill in the emotional and political gaps in her journey.

A quick note: this is a work in progress. I don’t plan to rewrite Chapter 1 of WWD yet again, but some of the details may shift as the backstory evolves. The core arc and structure of WWD will remain intact. I’ve mapped out five volumes in total, and poured hundreds of hours into plotting this saga—so I see no reason to throw any of that away. If anything, this addition will only strengthen what’s already there.

So what will Book 1 be about?

It opens with Wonder Woman at her peak—delivering a passionate speech before the UN General Assembly. We’ll see her in full heroic form, confident and commanding, (though already in the villain's clutches) which should create a powerful contrast to what she later becomes.

Her primary adversary—and future husband—will be introduced right away: Mr. Wang, China’s ambassador to the UN. He’ll be an Americanized, fluent English speaker, but loyal to the PRC and well-versed in global diplomacy. In short, he’s the perfect opposite of Diana and a natural WW hater—a cunning, ruthless, sadistic, small-statured, greasy, manipulative little bastard—but not cartoonish. He’s everything Frank tried to be and more, with cultural and political nuance that adds depth and complexity.

I’m still experimenting with how exactly this will unfold, but I’m committed to giving it my best.

Thanks for sticking with me—and for your patience. More soon.

Well i can't wait for that appetizer (if you decide to post it)

I'm close to finishing the first 1000 words, which I might post as an appetizer. That opening will explain much and give you all an idea of what the tone and style will look like. But yes, Diana is already compromised to some degree when we first meet her, and the action starts pretty much right away.
