🛡️ Royalty Mod: Valhalla Reveal + Devblog Update

Hey everyone!

I’m really excited to finally reveal something I’ve been working on behind the scenes: Royalty Mod: Valhalla – a Viking/Norse-inspired add-on for the Royalty Mod! This new expansion brings in Jarls, Clans, Feuds, and Loyalty Systems to shake up medieval gameplay with more conflict, power struggles, and Norse vibes.
This will be an add-on for Royalty Mod, so if you don't play with Vikings then there's no need for it to bloat your game.

What’s Working Now:

• Jarl Trait + Allegiance System:

  • Sims can now become a Jarl, the leader of a clan.

  • Other Sims can use custom interactions like “Pledge Allegiance” to swear loyalty to a Jarl.

• Clan Feud System:

  • I’ve created three clans so far (more to come): Bear, Raven, and Wolf.

  • Sims can now belong to one of these clans using custom Clan Traits.

  • You can trigger a feud between clans. When this happens, Sims from rival clans automatically get Feud Traits that change how they interact (and hate) each other.
    This took an awfully long amount of time due to needing to write a Python script for it (need I say anymore)... All things considered, it only took 2 days of screaming at my laptop to get it working, which is considerably less than other scripts I've written.

• Clan Flags:

  • Each clan has its own flag, an object that you can place on lots.

  • You can only have one flag per lot, and it sets that lot as a clan space.

  • The flag can be named (to represent your clan name), and there’s a function to invite other clan members over. This almost works perfectly now!
    There's no current way for me to use the clan name, hence the base of the clans being Bear, Wolf, Raven, ect. I'll try and work on that though.

What’s Coming Next:

• More events and gameplay for Valhalla like:

  • Clan raids (hopefully active), feasts, ect.

  • Germanic/Viking religion.

  • A deeper loyalty system.

  • Custom animations like receiving an Oath Ring, drinking horns, ect.

  • Perhaps a Seer or Rune Casting - but that will require a lot of planning. We'll see!

  • I'd love your ideas too!

I’ve realized I want to be more open about what I’m working on instead of just dropping random updates. From now on, I’ll share what’s in progress, what’s stuck, and what’s almost ready – no more mystery, just updates.
