More Problems - Supercharged BMW Alpina B7 - Project Chicago: Part 15

Part 15 of project Chicago! What was supposed to be a final episode, but it's not.

We are only left to deal with the paint which I thought shouldn't be that difficult since Schwarz 2 is easy to paint match. However, the car has some weird paint that looks like standard Schwarz 2, but it's not. Anyway, more on this in the video and Alpina is going to Poland to Artur and Dawid this week to be properly sorted out.

In other news, I got a phone call from Andy Bovensiepen, CEO of Alpina last week totally out of the blue. He said he saw the videos and that I'm having issues with the car and that they want to help. I did write to them in the very beginning and their head of production treated me somewhat poorly. Andy told me that the emails reached him just now and he wants to offer me a free engine rebuild, a free supercharger, to come and see their workshop, etc... Pretty wild and unexpected. We had a nice chat and Andy sounds genuinely nice and it's clear they would like to make up for the initial treatment. They'll try to help me with some parts that I need and I'm thinking to go to Alpina in the final episode as a nice conclusion to the series.

And there's more news, this whole weekend I was shooting a video with BMW Group Classic for their series called Our Brands, Our Stories. Some of you are probably aware of these videos, but if not you can check them out on their YT channel. Short 3-4 min video where you tell your story and share your passion about your favorite classic BMW which in my case is, of course, E39 M5.

First time I've done something like this, filming with professional video makers (3-man crew), giving the interview and it was a lot of fun! This video should be out in 2-3 months on their channel.

The next video will be on the X5, valve stem seals and I'm so looking forward to that. These past couple of months I wasn't able to do as much mechanical work as I wanted and it was eating me alive.
