Are the Illustrations Worthwhile?
Added 2018-05-06 09:49:11 +0000 UTCHello, my lovelies! Short post tonight—Ranch 25 is on its way! This is gonna be a fun month, and I should hope so, 'cause we're coming up on summer now!
Anyways, here's the question. We've had a few months since hitting the illustrated tier, and we've had a couple lovely illustrated stories since then. I enjoy getting the illustrations, but I haven't seen much feedback on them from you all, and they sure do create some extra hassle!
So what are your thoughts? Do you like the illustrations? Or are they not particularly worth the fuss?
I'd really appreciate your feedback on this one!

The illustrations actually detract from the story sometimes. When reading your stories, I'm engaging like I read any story; I'm building a picture in my mind. The illustrations disrupt that, if that makes sense.

2018-05-06 16:13:04 +0000 UTCI don't really care about illustrations in stories. Of course I enjoy well-made comics (like from MCC), but in written stories I don't need illustrations and don't really pay attention to them but rather to the word flow.

2018-05-06 16:12:20 +0000 UTCI’m ace so others probably feel different but I find illustrations, at best, useless. That is, unless they’re depicting kink moreso than just a character. If it’s kink-focused then I really like them.

2018-05-06 14:47:11 +0000 UTCFor stories, and much more so for ones with characters such as those in the ranch, I think illustrations just of the characters is well enough.. So that the mind's eye matches with just how the character is supposed to look

2018-05-06 13:58:24 +0000 UTCA little meh, really. Sort of ok, but then again not really on par with the text and not really bringing anything to the table. I wouldn't throw the idea out the window though, maybe commission something for the main cast or specific events, without a tight deadline. I just like more realism and full colours.
