Brief State of the Union

Hello, my lovelies! I hope you're all doing great. I am doing quite well, thanks for asking. I just wanted to touch base with you all about something.

As you all know, I'm supposed to be producing five chapters per month. As only I (but soon the lot of you) know, I'm only gonna be able to wrangle four this month. It's unfortunate, but the start of a new term has meant the onset of new Bad Days where not much has gotten done, and this time, it's been particularly unfortunate—it's been all I can do to keep up with Tumblr!

There's not really any fancy excuse for this. No dead family members, no goblin attacks, no lost time due to being taken to the Greenhouse for reconditioning. I just got burnt out and missed a few days' worth of work, putting me far behind. A regrettable goof, to be sure, but there's nothing to be done about it now. This will be a four-chapter month, ideally—maybe a three-chapter month, but I'm pretty sure I literally can't afford that. :P

This summer, assuming I'm in a financial place to do so, I'll be taking a partial hiatus to work on a real buffer (and not the would-have-been buffers of Spring Break and the holiday break, both of which were derailed for other reasons) and get started on the gamebook. That buffer is what will allow these three-chapter and four-chapter months to become a thing of the past.

I just wanted to be open and honest with you all; nothing's going wrong, I'm not just going back to once-per-week stories. I just need to be honest with y'all and myself about my capabilities.

• I plan to send the art query soon to get this month's BP illustrated. I hope you all liked last month's illustration!
• Just a friendly PSA; remember to register to vote! Primaries are coming up for a lot of you. Just because we fantasize about being mind controlled doesn't mean we shouldn't still occasionally take charge to do our civic duty!
