Flashfic Compilation Vol. 1
Added 2019-07-05 21:56:14 +0000 UTCUPDATE: Just a bookkeeping fix, but I was informed by a helpful patron that a lot of my older Vault stories were not accessible for anyone pledging at the $99 tier or higher. It's been fixed!
Hello, my lovelies!
So those of you following my Twitter already know this, but reading through all my stories has basically done two things: It's reminded me how much I like my stories, characters and world, and it's reminded me how much I miss writing those stories about the characters and world—because I've been doing stuff like this instead.
So I've decided that this is all I'll do for now. This first half (or 2/3rds) of the compilation is dedicated almost entirely to compiling stories I wrote about creatures, and is organized not quite as nicely as I would like but hopefully still quite practically! The map is completed as well. I also included a version that's the same, just with soft pink backgrounds, for those of you who like that sort of thing. ;)
You are welcome, too, to recommend which stories you think I should make public—a certain number of them will be, in honor of their origins as free flash-fiction! :)
I'm curious about your thoughts: Do you think hiring artists/camfolk to provide some new art/gifs would be a worthwhile investment for this, if I wanted to tidy it up and sell it publicly? Would you be willing to pay money for something like that? Alternatively, would you be willing to do so if I wanted to get art for the Creature Compendium later this year?

Very true.

2019-07-08 13:58:47 +0000 UTCI think the best move would be give this to your patrons, and throw the art in for the compilation you sell. Gives your patrons something, and an incentive to also buy the eventual final product for the art. And, I would also recommend, when you feel you have more time, to compile the remaining flashfics in a second collection, and put that out as well. As for the artwork, the first one would give a good indication if it's financially worth it to put them in the second one. As well as all these reasons, it could also give you a financial excuse to continue to write flashfiction. It's how I justify doing it. By writing them, sharing them, but also compiling them later, you can put out a hard copy of your work to sell and make some money off of. Between monthly patreon subscription and compilations, you could do write what you felt like and still make money off it all, and enlarge your fanbase. It's win-win.

2019-07-05 22:54:23 +0000 UTCI think so too! These stories were mostly all written to be paired with a visual aid, after all. I'd *definitely* love to get some artists involved for the Creature Compendium.
