Early Bird: In Nurse Poppy's Care, Ch. 02

In which Alrek discovers just what Nurse Poppy really plans for him, and tries to resist both her and the nurse's overeager bimbo apprentice—who has, it seems, a bit of an oral fixation. It's just so hard to think, or move, or do anything other than stare up at those big, bouncing tits... surely he's safe with his nurse, right? So very, very safe.

I've included the first chapter here for ease of reference, as this brings a close to a story that I really enjoyed writing (and editing with the help of my good friend Devi).

Minor Spoilers Below

One of my favorite things about this story was how I got to gently expand the world a little bit, as well as the characters. I haven't talked much about brewsters or Tower Mages in the Alrek/Larya stories, but the latter are a pretty pivotal part of the world. Same goes for healing mages and the Chosen (and the way the Chosen are regarded by most of Lacra).

I try to dig a little into the characters, too, with every story, and I saw this story as a chance to subtly probe Alrek's backstory. I'm very sparing with that because Alrek's history is one of the closest-guarded secrets I have, so don't expect him to go spilling his entire tale, but I think this story introduces a few more tidbits into the canon. I've seen some really good guesses in the past, including one person who somehow got it spot-on.

It was also fun to put Larya in a position where she got to save Alrek. That doesn't happen too often in these kinds of stories, but hey, it does happen. There'll be some fun alt-end options for this month, that's for sure!
