The Final Status Update of 2023!

Hello, my lovelies!

So, I thought I'd do a little round-up of what I have planned for the end of the year, now that I've escaped from underneath the Specter of NaNoWriMo. I'll also touch briefly on my hopes for 2024 (you know, aside from continued mediocrity from the White House), though I'll probably be doing a more serious look forward in January.

December-Specific Plans

So, for the stories I have planned specifically for December,  I'll be focused on Teacher's Pet, Evergreen Treats and Winter Rose, along with a few flashfics here and there!

I also have a special story concept in mind based on one of my favorite Christmas songs. I'm planning for it to come out on the 23rd alongside Winter Rose, if I get it finished on time. We'll see--as you can imagine, I'm going to be quite busy!

Series Updates

So, as a treat, here's the status of every series I've been getting questions about lately, in order of general priority.

Teacher's Pet: This series remains Active. I've been getting a lot of requests to continue it, and believe me, I'm excited to do so, too! Expect Chapter 7 in December. Helena still needs to get so much worse.

Evergreen Treats: Gretel vs. Cuttlemaid is the next due Bonus Pairing, so naturally it's extra-high-priority for me! This series is Active, and I'm hoping to get the next chapter out this month!

Winter Rose: I absolutely need to complete this story, and what better month to complete a story about hellebore, a traditionally festive flower? This story is Active and will be a priority as soon as the next due Bonus Pairing is finished.

Guests of the Mapleseed: I actually made a wonderful discovery--I have Chapters 2 and 3 written, but I never edited them! So I can get those up pretty easily, but I'm actually still going to push it back to January because a) I love having a buffer, b) I have other stories I'd like to push out to y'all first! Overall, this series is Active--I haven't been very focused on it lately, but I have lots of ideas on what happens next.

Tesseract Trance: This series remains Active, and as a commission, it's on a strict timetable--I'd look for Chapters 3 and 4 this January.

Minding Her Manor: This series remains Active, and I'd love to get Chapter 4 up this month, but realistically I should turn to some other series for a bit and give it some space to breathe. Expect it in January.

Intrepid Pawns: This story is Backburnered. I very much want to get it finished, it's just a lot of work. I love the series and I think completing it will be my prerequisite for starting any new series.

Mysterious New Series: I've promised myself I will not start any new un-commissioned series until a couple existing series are finished, but gosh am I excited for this Glowpebble Path series. Here's a hint: it features a very popular genre of kink I have never written before, although it will still play with very familiar kinks overall. Consider it Backburnered.

Violets and Roses: This story is Backburnered. I'm definitely planning on finishing the series, and I do love putting the poor boy through the wringer, but I want to make more progress on other series first. It's pretty easy to write, being pure indulgence.

With Silver Bells: This series is Backburnered, meaning, by extension, the Alrek/Larya series is effectively backburnered. Again, lots of fun, lots of work, and I've been taking a break. I definitely don't plan to leave things there. With Silver Bells is very important for expanding on Alrek's character, and offers some critical context for upcoming stories (like the merging of the Exposed/Evergreen Forest timelines).

The Edentide Garden: This story is Dormant. I adore it--it's always kind of hovering in my head, and I'm obsessed with Lavvi--but I have other series that are more important, and I want to do Edentide justice. I may get around to it next year, when other projects are completed.

The Seven Kisses: Bet you forgot about this prose adaptation of an old D&Dazes game! This is so easy to adapt, which means it'll probably take me another year, because adaptation is easy but boring. This story is Backburnered.

Dance with a Moth: This story is Dormant. It's a minor favorite of mine, and I really want to complete the romance, it's just not a priority.

The Milkmaid's Well: Believe it or not, this story is not finished, but Dormant! Larya and Lim will be interacting with it at some point. The exact concept may change, but I'm currently envisioning it as a chance to build on the strengths and fault lines of their relationship. Plus a lot of md;lg.

The Forest Bakery: This story is Dormant. I don't have plans for it right now, but that may change in the future!

Honeymoon Manor: This story is Dormant. It was a collaborative series, so it's possible it could resume, but Carol and I are both super busy nowadays.

The Alchemist's Bride: I know, deep cut. This story is Dormant. I have no immediate plans to continue it, but I don't consider it finished and know there's more I could write for it.
