★ oops! GG ended up breaking her "no new stories" promise after all—it turns out that trying to come back to things like intrepid pawns after months spent away has been more difficult than expected, and since the first few chapters of this story have actually been done for quite some time, it seemed appropriate to start posting it instead of leaving you all hanging for another week!
this story isn't connected to the cloistered lands or any other established setting, instead just being a loosey-goosey "don't worry about it" modern fantasy sort of affair. as a result, though, the religious elements featuring in this story bear a lot more resemblance to real-world religion, and the story touches on corresponding themes of repression, so be warned about that!
this chapter is also mostly just the two main characters talking and not getting up to anything physical just yet, but if you're like me and love seeing two girls awkwardly, earnestly flirting with each other and slowly raising the ambient sexual tension to a boiling point, I'm sure you'll still love it! ★
