Quick preview of colors and tones - "Hero" artwork by Marko & Aleksandra

I went quickly trough showing and explaining how many tones and colors one colorful work actually have. See all the tones I picked with pick tool. You can try it out with some of the programs and app-s. But it is not necessary, you can just look closely. (I did it just for the preview) And notice that even next to having various number of tones, they can repeat in similar and different values, creating harmony. Expressing story behind the piece, giving depth, etc. In the video, I just did a quick update observing tones, not to overwhelm you all with information's. As all of it will be covered as lessons trough those videos already posted and those that are coming in future, trough exercises. Etc. It is a wide topic that cannot be explained easy, but we will go step by step, preparing you all for future lessons and we are looking forward to everything that is coming. Hope you guys are, as well. All the best, Aleksandra & Marko

Thank you Simon, we are looking forward sharing more and making more exercises. In time everything will become much easier. Of course, practice is always needed, but we will be sure to prepare fun and educational lessons for you all and looking forward to all of it. :)

This is fascinating. I'm excited to see you tackle one of these interesting colorful pieces in video form.

I think this is a VERY good reminder for this community. It is very young (15 days) and things takes time. We all need to give it time to make it better :) I know I am still struggling with getting the paint consistency right when using the underpaiting technique shown in the two first videos.

Thank you very much Neil. It is great knowing that. :)

Craftworld Studio

I found that very fascinating and a great insight! Thank you!

Thank you very much, it is appreciated knowing that, we are glad knowing. We got a lot of feedback in these 15days. Hehe. And we are trying to take it all in, but also to explain that we need time to accomplish everything. We just realized you are new to Patreon, we wished you welcome at Discord. And we hope you will have fun with all the content. Also, we will work on improving any technical issues in future ones. Some that are coming next month are already recorded but to accomplish it we will work more on editing etc, also improve some editing on some details etc. We will also have fundamental videos and pdf's for all the people who are new or back to hobby. So we will try to bring everything for everyone also to bring our lessons in the way we see it's fitting to lead you all to our colour practices and bring you all closer to easily understand more about colour placement, art terms and colour theory. Thanks. Aleksandra & Marko

Thank you so much for the well thought out, and extensive response. Means a lot! I had not realized that the Patreon was only 15 days old!! I was not trying to take you guys for granted, I was just providing my insight (for whatever it’s worth). I am VERY appreciative of this Patreon. It gave me access to learn with my favorite painters. Your paint style is one of the reasons I was inspired to get back into the hobby, and for that I will forever be grateful!!

Hi Jacob. Thank you for feedback, I think I wrote in description that this is just a start of explanations. Just a quick preview of what tones are there and how similar they are. This quick video is not a lesson. It is more of a introduction to observing the artwork. One of the options of sharing work in progress, or exclusive content. And here I spent time to share something exclusive with you all. Of course as explained if I go into theory it would be overwhelming to watch and to understand. As there is various levels of painters here. I believe that those nouns can be understood by simple observing on what I am showing when talking. But also you can see them as literal translation. Depth- deepness of color. Harmony - balance or good interaction of colours. Character- personality. Composition - right placement - something that you would like to have explained (as to you mentioned) - good way of placing tones/colors. Of course, all of this will be covered in some future tutorials, lessons..etc..We are here now 15days and already have so many things happening. For some it is good enough, for some whey are looking forward to see even more, for some it is even too much. For us as well it is a lot, but we loved how this community grew fast so we just dedicated ourselves more and more. That is why it is important for us to answer on this feedback detailed explaining once again that we cannot just give a simple word in one simple lesson explaining whole colour theory and art. We will do this trough colour use, color practice and lessons of our style that is most suitable for those kind of theory's in practice. :)

You use a lot of nouns when explaining your artwork. Like harmony, depth, character, and composition, but everyone imagines those very differently. I think it’s critical that you guys explain what those nouns mean to YOU so that we can better understand how your mind works when painting. It’s very difficult for me to understand your initial color placements, and perhaps there are other people who would benefit from a “why” you do something instead of a “what” you do.
