You know I wanted to comment that during some of the last Sumeru updates they introduced a new kind of enemy called consecrated beasts which are esentially upgraded versions of normal beasts that mutated, turned monstrous and gained elemental powers after consuming remains of other creatures imbued with godly energy. I think this is a concept that might give you some ideas!
