2019-04-27 19:45:42 +0000 UTCOkay I Looked more deeply into it instead of just going off experience, so the reason they hate water is becuase during their early history they were never exposed to rivers, lakes, and rain since they originated from hot and dry climates. and those that were exposed to these things in colder climates would die. And if your cat has long fur and they can’t clean something off or it becomes matted it’s better to just clean that individual spot with a wet rag and comb and they can take care of the rest. now if you cat is literally coated in mud, then yeah they need a bath, but using a shower head might be better.

They bathe themselves, their tongues are coated in hooks specifically for cleaning themselves, so the only time they need baths is when you are applying medicine(specific kinds) and to get rid of fleas. If their coats are course or grimy looking washing won’t help becuase it’s not that they’re dirty It’s probably their diet.
