Trying something different
Added 2017-06-17 19:10:00 +0000 UTCThis is a drawing I did of my son recently. It was the first drawing I had done on paper in few years. I was happy with it, so I was confident in trying a new time-elapsed drawing for my next video (had some animation fatigue after the last one). I really like the composition I came up with, but after several attempts, I remain displeased with my renderings (it's much more complex than this portrait).
So, now I’ve decided to try an experimental approach: a combination of my more traditional drawing method, mixed with my animation medium. I’ll draw the composition in my animation software, which will allow me to be more precise and correct mistakes more easily. Since a time-elapsed version of that won’t be as fun to watch, I’ll have the piece fade into existence in various ways that correspond with my narration. We’ll see how it goes. So far, this has been the most difficult video to execute. The others were difficult in their various monotonous demands, but the difficulty here is all about getting the impression right.
